In this assignment I will be exploring what missions statements are, ethos and the values the schools set to reflect their vision.
Mission: this means that is it a statement of what an organisation is focusing on and why they want to do it. An example of a mission statement; “Our vision is to create a school community where children participate, excel and are proud of their achievements…” set by Round Hill primary school. Schools create mission statements in order to set themselves a Goal to reach for, a goal in which everyone will learn from it and gain an experience, because the statement they have set is creating them a vision to aim for. While working towards this goal, they are able to reflect and review their progress. A mission statement

An example of child friendly value for primary school/children is to promote mental, physical and social well being within our school. They ensure that the school is maintaining a school ethos where the children are motivated and enthusiastic towards their learning. They want to make sure their children come to school knowing what they are learning and experiencing today. Values have a teaching purpose which is without values and respect; children have no sense of purpose and clarity. Not to mention, their aptitude to think clear and straight will be inaccurate. By fostering an environment where core values are a focal point, it will enable children to have a basic focus and something leading them
Ethos; in a school, ethos touches on all aspects of its operation. An ethos set by school will say a few things such as; open, positive, supportive relationships where children and young people will feel that they are listened to.
Promoting a climate in which children and young people feel safe and secure.
Modelling behaviour which promotes effective learning and wellbeing within the school
The aims are what the school wants to achieve. They could include the goals, targets, intentions and purpose.
Ethos is a set of values held either by an individual or by a community, reflected in their language, social attitudes and behavior. There are two independent concepts within Ethos, Personality and Stance. Personality
Most organization have develop an element called a mission statement. A mission statement describes and helps focus the attention of organizational members and external constituents on the organization's core purpose. This is use in the criminal justice and security agency use mission statement for the success of the organization and better serve the community or businesses that they have agree to serve and protect.
The ethos and mission of a school are often referred to hand-in-hand as the same thing. They are however, different. The mission is based upon what the school intend to achieve in a more physical and academical way, whereas the ethos is more related to the beliefs and feelings of the school. As they are inextricable linked to the holistic teaching approach they become part of most school mission statements as one.
The mission statement is often publically stated and used by almost every organization today. It helps provide basic guidelines, essentially the core values of a company, and what they aim for. A mission statement gives customers
I think these are meant to ensure that children in a childcare center, whether it is a home daycare or a public daycare, are in a safe environment, given tasks appropriate for their age, be respected for their culture and diversity, and feel loved by their caretakers. This is evident in the NAEYC Code of Ethics core values. Without these standards, there would be no moral code to follow. This could lead to disrespect to the children, colleague or the person’s higher authority. If a child feels like their way of daily life or themselves are not appreciated, then they might not be willing to learn from their teacher.
This defines what a company will do to achieve its vision. It may include the company’s functions, goals and philosophies
Purpose and mission statements are meant to clarify directions, guide decision making, mobilize, and motivate individuals or groups of people as they move forward. But these statements need to be tools that stimulate action rather than words that hang on a frame on the wall (p. 195).
“true rhetoricians understand the importance of symbols and sturdy photos; certainly, a number of the most effective speeches in records revolve round a robust image, or halo,” as Heinrichs calls it. While it’s controversial whether realistic knowledge, virtue, or disinterest is the maximum essential element of character, distinctive feature is genuinely the maximum essential factor of ethos in terms of management. Leaders don’t just coach different people what to do; they embody positive values and attitudes. For an instance, American presidents aren’t just evaluated at the merits of their rules; they’re judged for their individual, because—for better or worse—leaders want to have exact individual (or at least the appearance of correct character)
The mission, vision, and values statement of an organization are inspiring words that are selected by successful leaders in order to clearly and precisely communicate the direction of the organization. Through developing clear and concise mission, vision, and values statement, the organization and its leaders can powerfully express their intentions and motivate the employees towards the achievement and realization of the attractive and common vision and objectives. However, the mission statement, vision statements, and values statements accomplish distinct objectives in an organization.
In Practical approaches to behaviour management in the classroom (2012, p. 7), the author states that, “in order to create a positive learning culture within a school, effective interventions need to be implemented”. This means that for constructive learning to take place in the classroom, as a teacher, I need to be able to administer the correct response strategies to encourage positive behaviours in my
As a teacher I believe that it is my responsibility to role mode appropriate respect for children and families as I provide children with learning opportunities that encourage good morals and values and most of all showing understanding and patience. I believe that every child has their uniqueness and that every child has something special to bring into the centre. I believe that every child has their own potential and develop at their own speed. I believe that every child has their own talents and as teacher we should provide opportunities for these talents to be used and shine. These talents should be fostered and developed father through relationships with the wider community and whanau. Each individual has their own beliefs and values that they have been embedded with from their upbringing and family morals as a teacher it is my responsibility to value, respect encourage and empowered these values. I believe in developing responsive and reciprocal relationships that are trusting and high quality. I believe by having good relationships particularly with families enables that child to feel more secure and trusting within the service. I believe that as educators we create that climate in which good quality sustained interactions with children and adult occur.
A company's vision is a "general statement of its intended direction that evokes emotional feelings in organization members." (Dessler, 2003). The mission statement determines the type of business it will be by setting the purpose for the company, and
A mission statement is a “formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization or individual.” (Oxford) Mission statements are important in business because it can be used to determine a company's short and long-term goals. Intelligent business owners use mission statements to remind its employees why the company exists and how the company will be or continue to be successful. Dunkin Donuts’ mission and vision statement is simple. It is “to deliver high quality food and beverages quickly, affordably and conveniently in a welcoming environment.” Dunkin Donuts being a fast food chain, has been relied on by its customers to provide coffee and breakfast at a fast pace. This is how each individual Dunkin Donuts gains and keeps customers. When the staff are all on the same page, the business runs smoothly, and customers remain happy, resulting in repeat customers. Word travels fast and so does the coffee, with that in mind. Keeping customers happy and meeting their needs will keep this business striving.
On the other hand, mission statement is the reason why a company exists and it’s a statement that declares the core purpose of a company. Mission statement usually will remain the same over time (Bratianu, 2007). The mission is different from a vision as it aims to create competitive advantage and also achieve the social goal of a company (Bratianu, 2007).
