Burger King and Wendy’s are among the top fast food chains in America, but this fact doesn’t elude either chain from having their negative and positive features. Burger King is cheaper, and has a wider assortment of food than Wendy’s, which makes Burger King more desirable to many Americans. What Wendy’s lacks in diversity, and lower priced food when compared to Burger King becomes irrelevant due to the higher speed and superior quality food they offer. Both qualities of Wendy’s help to maintain equal competition between the two in the fast food market of America.

Fast food might be easy and cheap but people do not realize how harmful the food is for their bodies. The problem is the food that is served at these types of restaurants, especially McDonalds, are high in fat, salt, processed, and can have harmful ingredients included in the food. While home cooked food takes time to plan and make people know what they are eating, that isn’t the case at McDonalds: “McDonald’s burgers retain its fresh appearance for a very long time. This can easily fool customers who do not have a hint of this alteration in their burgers. To me, I think Mcdonalds is disgusting. I think the Mexican fast food restaurants are way better than McDonalds. Mexican fast food first started getting popular once the first taco bell came out in 1962. After that, there have been much more Mexican fast food restaurants like Chipotle. My favorite Mexican fast food restaurants are Taco Bell and Chipotle. Many people think there's no difference between the 2 restaurants, but there are many differences and similarities.

Even though McDonald’s and Burger King are really similar, they are also really different. They both try to have good advertising but McDonald’s is, most of the time, ahead. Fast food restaurants have developed so much over the past century with so many choices available. Sme to include are Subway, McDonalds, and Arbys'. These choices provide unique food combinations like shakes, burgers, wraps, and fries. These choices provide quick often inexpensive meals with the dollar menu. these meals are often unhealthy and have led to an obesity epidemic. There are many positive and negative effects that fast food restaurants has had on America.

All their food is frozen, and the creation process is similar to a factory. Eating fast food is not only unhealthy, but can cause diseases such as E Coli. McJobs, by Eric Schlosser, describes this process, “At Burger King restaurants, frozen hamburger patties are placed on a conveyor belt and come out of a broiler ninety seconds later fully cooked. The ovens at Pizza Hut and at Domino’s often use conveyor belts. The delicious, delectable, juicy, crunchy, greasy hamburger slowly going in your hungry stomach, enjoying every minute of the tasty process of devouring your food. People are lacking self control. People will still choose to eat a fattening burger hitting about 500 calories per bite, but still not think twice about ordering it. Maybe they don’t fully understand the effects of these extremely processed foods.

Although fast food gives you satisfaction, it causes a significant amount of damage to your body. Fast food restaurants have many effects on the citizens of the United States, which tend to be more harmful than positive. People should avoid fast food restaurants altogether to prevent diseases such as diabetes that has been linked to eating fast food, and to help children achieve the test scores they are capable of producing.

When I used to drink milkshakes at Burger King as a kid, I thought they were normal milkshakes made with the basic ingredients; milk, ice cream, and strawberries. I never would have thought, especially as a kid, that this wasn’t the case. I never thought that instead, Burger King would be using 59 different kinds of acetates, acids, and oils for their milkshakes. When I was a kid, I loved drinking these milkshakes from McDonalds, Burger King, and other fast food restaurants, but today, I refuse to drink a milkshake from any of these places because now I know the actual ingredients that are going into the milkshake. Using artificial flavors and coloring may make food seem more appealing in a fast food restaurant, but it doesn’t make it any healthier. Most people go to eat at a fast food restaurant because they just need a quick bit to eat, but when people know the actual ingredients that are in their food, it just makes the food less appealing to eat and much less appetizing. At McDonalds, one medium order of fries is 378 calories, a 20 piece chicken McNugget is 470 calories, and a Big Mac has 530 calories. In the United States today, many people know how important it is for your body and health to try to eat healthy, but fast food is nowhere near healthy. Most Americans crave high calorie fast food and go to places such as McDonalds, Wendy’s, and Burger King. The main reason that people are drawn to it because to them it tastes rich and bold in flavor but in reality fast food is unhealthy. Nowadays people try to take the healthier route but some people are connected to fast food because it’s easy to afford and it’s close to where they live. As healthier restaurants are growing it's crucial to keep the same foods and flavor as fast food restaurant.

So on the way to work they will buy dinner at a fast food restaurant. Places such as McDonalds's, Burger King, and Taco Bell have begun to appear on every street corner. Fast food restaurants made an appearance in America in the 1960's. They have not been around for very long and already the effects are destroying the health of the people in America. This is because people go to what to tastes good and these foods taste good to the kids. When their parents grew up a trip to grandmas for Sunday dinner was a treat and a variety from the meals at home. Today the treat is going out to a fast food restaurant. These foods are usually inexpensive, prepared for the person, and they taste good. The downside to these places is that their food is greasy and high in fat. Both of these are contributors to high blood pressure and high frequency of heart attacks among the American population.
