Since Henry Ford’s invention of the moving assembly line to mass produce civilian automobiles in 1913, the environment and air that we breathe every day is being ruined and polluted. Though people drive cars around every day with no worries, they still are damaging the world around them with every mile. Car emissions are causing multiple issues with the air and water sources. Harmful gases are being emitted from the cars and are messing up the natural gases already present in our atmosphere. These gases consist of sulfur-based substances and are polluting and contaminating the already present nitrogen oxide and other greenhouse gases up in the atmosphere. The gases that are being emitted from our cars are creating a second-hand smoke effect, which is a major health issue for humans. Another way that these gases are effecting us is by the foods we eat. Humans live on crops, fish, and livestock. Well, when these gases got into these animals systems, they are then transferring harmful toxins into our bodies buy our consumption of it. Another way that it is breaking us down is the infrastructure is being damaged. Over time, these gases are seeping into our concrete, wood, and stucco, causing the buildings to become weaker and more dangerous. Because of these effects on us, our governments are using more and more money trying to save and preserve our lives rather than trying to fix the source. Therefore, we are wasting our money and ruining our economy due to the continuous battle against a war we cannot win. This is why car emissions must be regulated on a closer basis.
