Cloud Computing has given rise to variety of recent innovations by giving much flexibility to use resources and services at very low initial cost. Now a day’s most of the business organizations and companies move towards the cloud computing due to increases demand of resources and services as the business grow. In this paper different types of challenges are discussed that should be considered while adopting the cloud computing technology.
This case gives us a fundamental understanding of the concept of cloud computing and presents the advantages and issues of this IT infrastructure. This case gives a clear vision of the company’s current situation. Three main questions to consider
IT organizational restructure includes; hiring 3 more application developers and hiring two more people in the networking team in order to reduce the number of the networking issues for the applications maintained within WW. Application developers will decrease development time of the applications. Current implemented technology for the accounting processes, route optimization, freight tracking and fleet maintenance will need to be improved. All these applications are based on an older technology. In order to improve the overall functionality and to reduce the cost associated with IT requires the organization to implement a cloud computing based ERP solution systems. This system will improve the overall performance and will reduce the cost associated with the implementation. The cloud based applications can be accessed from anywhere and anyone authorized to access the system can access the system easily. The next set of changes that are required in the internal IT strategies are the improvement in the internal processes; all the internal operations are managed in a better way through the new systems. The new systems are targeted to improve the overall operations within the organization (Chand, S 2014). The next change in the IT internal strategy is the IT portfolio. IT portfolio includes implementation of the
Cloud computing has changed the Information Technology by introducing a new concept and platform of enterprise system. The traditional enterprise system is characterized as clunky, expensive, and complex for most organization to implement and use. Nevertheless, cloud computing enterprise system offers with a competitive advantage. The advantage offered lies in the cloud ES offering flexibility, scalability, and independence in IT infrastructure and capabilities. Cloud computing holds great potential for the business world and has many advantages and challenges. Cloud enterprise system offers with an attractive option to businesses in solving problems associated with high investment in Information Technology infrastructure and Information Technology resources (Fortiş, Munteanu and Negru). Today cloud computing is considered as the fifth utility after water, electricity, gas, and telephone. The aim is making cloud services readily available on demand like all other utility
1. Are the security arrangements for data and applications stored in the cloud the responsibility of the user or the vendor?
The report discusses such aspects of cloud computing as its characteristics, deployment models and service models as well as the drivers and challenges of cloud adoption. It also summarizes key differences between cloud computing and traditional IT environments.
Cloud Computing has been a buzz world in the past few years. The use of this technology increased considerably when we made huge progress in this domain, reducing the cost for everyone. Today, Cloud Computing is widely used all across the world by a lot of companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, etc…
The ERP market is the biggest and full-grown enterprise application segment in the IT sector. The ERP Technology offered organizations with a framework for evaluating the development of their ERP technology. The ERP managers and IT leaders both are responsible for ERP should use the intelligent framework to authorize and modernize their ERP platform technology strategies. The Cloud computing is the key change agents that motivating the demand for new platforms and strategies. “The IT Market Clock for ERP Technology demonstrates the market maturity and commoditization levels for multiple generations of ERP platform technology” (Gartner 's IT Market Clock, 2014).
Organizational change is one of the most difficult strategies to implement. Organizational change is a broad change in regard to the organization as a whole, as opposed to smaller changes within an organization, such as adding a new person or adapting a new program. An example of organizational change might include a change in operation, restructuring operations, teams, layoffs, new technologies, collaborations, rightsizing, or even new programs. Some specialists submit to organizational alterations. Frequently this phase authorizes an essential and thorough reorientation in the way an organization operates. The introduction of cloud computing infrastructure has brought in many changes to the infrastructure of any IT organization. Cloud computing has become the latest and most advanced infrastructure service to date. More and more companies are migrating to cloud computing service as days go, as they provide more flexibility and scalability and user friendliness in many aspects of an IT infrastructure.
1. Many organizations find it troublesome to understand the logic behind the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Financial management or Accounting administration is considered as a standout amongst the most essential modules of ERP. The truth behind considering and testing finance related module is that it offers & guarantees legitimate budget reports.
Exercise 1, Page 204: Project scope is difficult to manage. Research two businesses that have implemented an ERP system that have used change control and describe the process to determine the level of success they had with that process.
however, Legacy ERP vendors are starting to use cloud based services to perform some functions of ERP, mainly those who depend on by mobile users. Cloud based ERP modules are built to be loosely joined, which can reduce the cost and difficulty of a Deployment. Currently some businesses are using hybrid cloud deployments in which part of the ERP software suite runs on premises and the other part runs on the cloud. The advantage of using SaaS ERP is that the system could start running, automatic upgrades and as well as reduction in hardware and support expenses. (SearchERP, 2017) (CompuData, 2017)
The difference between distributed computing with individualized computing is that the cloud technology gives an extensive variety of capacities. The usage of cloud built solutions depends on different elements, for example, the division in which the business works; the practicality of porting existing parts on cloud, size of the organization, and the area of customers and so on. It helps in reducing the time required as well as minimize the fixed cost of the company. Therefore, it is not logistic to make a single explanation of implementation of cloud computing technology. For example, a newly started company can adopt the cloud based solution easily but it is difficult for existing firms to shift their supply chain to cloud technology. Let consider a business has both ERP and CRM solutions, as concern from security view the business may move their CRM to cloud while store ERP in house server.
