Overall my job shadow of Blake Kennedy was a very enlightening experience. Before I went on the job shadow I had very different thoughts on what Electrical Engineers do. I used to think that most Electrical Engineers worked with breadboards and circuitry. I originally thought that most coding was done by another major or a trade skill. I now know that there is so much more to Electrical Engineering than I had first thought. Electrical Engineers can work with anything from working with analog equipment to work with communications or even with electrical theories. I also used to think that the opportunities for promotions are possible. The career is expected to grow and with good reason. As the world becomes more digitally reliant there
An interesting article I encountered in regards to my career goals was one written by, John Wiley, named,
There are multiple professions that make up the mental health field. Some of the professions are clinical psychologist, psychiatric technicians, license professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Since there are so many professions it can be hard to understand what each profession does and how it differs from a clinical psychologist. A clinical psychologist is the mental health specialty that focuses on diagnosing clients and provides mental health care through a wide range of psychiatric treatments. To become a clinical psychologist a person would earn a PsyD, Ph.D. or post-doctoral specialization certificate
The occupation that I have selected via the O*Net Interest Profiler is nuclear engineering. I obtained this career by plugging in the top three letters I scored highest on in the personality mosaic, which were Investigative, Conventional and Realistic, in that order. I agreed with the results of the personality mosaic, I presumed that the three terms and their descriptions were predominantly truthful to how I perceived myself. Secondarily, I reasoned that a decent amount of the careers recommended to me through the O*Net Interest Profiler were occupations that I had an interest in, therefore I believe the online profiler did a quality job of helping me determine a career.
Today I made an assessment at Conestoga Career Center department about my career planning and understand the best course for me.
