Rationale: Planning and enabling learning
Introduction
The main purpose of this assignment was to research negotiating with learners, inclusive learning, integrating functional skills and communication, and to concentrate on one particular area that we found most useful, which in consideration of my field of work was communication with learners and how this meets the needs of ESBD students as I work for an ESBD school combined with a PRU, and therefore work with interesting, challenging and also violent behaviour.
I feel that by looking into greater detail the concept of negotiating with learners will support me in understanding what helps the learner to adapt to their environment, work well with others, and ways in which I can enable

Bearing this in mind the different groups of learners, visual (where the learner finds observing a task and then repeating it easier), auditory (where the learner explanations of what to do easier) and kinaestic (where the student learns by experience and doing the task themselves) and having opportunities for all types of learners and combining more than one type in your scheme of work, will ensure equality in your teaching practice.
For learners with a lower academic ability you may need to adapt recourses bearing this in mind for example having a lower expectation of their achievements, but without making this obvious to other class members, and even having additional support such as a teaching assistant who can work closely with those who are struggling, is extremely useful and helps the student to feel more supported.

My main focus when looking at inclusive learning is how does inclusive learning help us to aid and support our learners.

Inclusive learning is about ensuring all your learners have the opportunity to be involved and included in the learning process. It’s also about treating all learners equally and fairly, without directly or indirectly excluding anyone. Inclusion is about attitudes as well as behaviour, as learners can be affected by
1.1. Inclusive learning is about recognising that all your students have the right to be treated equally and fairly, have the same access to all products, services and have the opportunity to be involved and included. As a teacher you need to be aware that all students are not the same as they all do not learn in the same way, the ways in which a teacher can overcome this is using the Teaching and Learning Cycle, using visual, auditory and kinaesthetic materials (VAK) and agreeing on individual learning plans (ILPs). Other features could include self reflective exercises, quizzes and providing opportunities for students to reflect on their own
As a teacher in an inclusive classroom, I will work to fully provide opportunities for authentic learning, where every child feels valued, safe and included. My goal will be to find occasions every day to nurture independent learning, along with peer support that promotes a sense of personal growth and achievement. I recognize that every child has strengths and weaknesses, special talents, and specific needs, regardless of individual challenges. My objective will be to model appropriate behavior and show acceptance of everyone who enters our classroom.
As a teacher when delivering any lessons planned we have to make sure that each students individual needs are met, so they will feel included in the lesson. “Inclusion is about creating interesting, varied and inspiring learning opportunities for all learners, ensuring all learners contribute and are never disadvantaged by methods, language or resources” Wilson (2008).

When setting up an inclusive learning environment we need to focus on individual differences. Francis and Gould (2013: p65) explain, that “it is important to recognise the differences in the learners we teach, as these influence how we interact with them.” Francis and Gould (2013) list few typical differences, like age, physical disability, mental health issues, ethnicity, etc.
This assignment is about different teaching and learning approaches. It describes the 3 main learning styles as identified in the Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic (VAK) model. It then goes on to describe how each of these learning styles could be accommodated by different teaching
