President Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas, but he moved to Abilene, Kansas when he was still a baby. He had six brothers, but one of them died in infancy.

Eisenhower spent an interesting childhood. He was born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas. His parents were David and Ida Eisenhower. When he was still a baby he moved to Abilene, Kansas. Dwight D. Eisenhower had five brothers. There names were Arthur, Edgar, Roy, Earl, Milton Stover, Paul, but Paul died in infancy. Paul’s death was a very sad, heartbreaking moment. President Eisenhower had a nickname named Little Ike which distinguished him from his big brother, Edgar, who was Big Ike. He was nicknamed Ike because at some point in EIsenhower family life, everyone gets called Ike. Young Ike went to Abilene High School. He was good at math and geometry. Later on, he enters United States Military Academy at West Point in New York. In fact, he was one of the few people who graduated from West Point as it is very hard to graduate from West Point. Dwight D. Eisenhower had a very large family. Dwight D. Eisenhower married Mamie Geneva Doud at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. They married on July 1, 1916. They had two boys named John Eisenhower and Doud Eisenhower. They had 2 pets in the White House. One was a parakeet named Gabby. The other was a Weimaraner named Heidi. Eisenhower was a remarkable president. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born of David and Ida Eisenhower. He was the third of the six boys. He was a World War II general that lead the battle of Normandy. He kept America at peace in which didn’t let America become a Communism country and he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1957 which let African-American’s vote. His attendance had no charge. He was a star player on the football team, until his continuous knee injuries required him to quit playing. Martin Luther King Jr. is a well known and an inspiring man to all cultures of the world. King was and still is one of the most influential heroes. King 's views and believes helped African Americans through the 50 's and 60 's to the rights and liberties that was their right. King faced many obstacles on his journey, things like jail and even assassination attempts. Despite these obstacles, he became a successful leader during the Civil Rights Movement and after his death, by guiding African Americans in a non-violent and positive direction for the fight to secure rights and equality for blacks.

Nixon was head of the Montgomery branch of the Pullman porters union and the president of local NAACP. He had organized a group of 750 men who marched to Montgomery country. When he was only a year and a half old, his family moved back to Abilene, Kansas so that his father could acquire a better job at his brother-in-law’s creamery. When Dwight was four years old, his 10-month old brother Paul died of diphtheria. Despite the tragedy of the passing of his brother, Dwight didn’t let that stop him from having happy childhood memories.
