The damage of the war caused workers to move to curtain area where work is available. This resulted in an overflow of children for schools, a shortage of homes for the females of the working men and woman. The war causes the role of a woman to change tremendously. Woman became lumberjacks, mechanics during the war. They went as far as to take jobs normally reserved for men and also there wages began to double overtime. Women had a huge role in the World War II that so many do not recognize. Women were involved in many different jobs that allowed them to step out of the ordinary norm as the “typical housewife”, and dive into fierce hardworking jobs that until then only a man could do. Women jumped into the factories and many different roles that contributed to World War II, because the need for more American workers was crucial.
When America entered World War I, many of the men were drafted out to fight. This allowed women to enter into the workforce in new ways, since many of the jobs needing to be done were left empty handed. Women started to work in factories or for the government. They were also able to help out in the war effort by entering in as nurses and tending to the wounded. World War I led to many advancements for women.2 The war work increased the support for woman suffrage. Also when the Great Depression hit men couldn't be the only one working, it would have been very difficult to support a family just on that one salary.
War, by its very nature has always been a catalyst for change. World war two, being no exception, is perhaps the most drastic example of how war can affect an entire nation. Specifically in regards to politics and government, World war two affected America in an extremely profound way. The war triggered a plethora of different changes within the United State’s government, including: Causing a permanent demographic change from groups who had been previously discriminated against, promoting growth of big business, shifting the power dynamics in the United States Government as well as on the international level, and by shifting the United States approach to foreign policy from isolationism to interventionism.

World War 2 didn't just only affect the US, but it affected the whole world. However, even though the whole world was affected, the US was really the only country to prosper from the horrific event. Many positive changes had occurred during the time after the war. The most important postive aspects were that the US economy didn't go into debt due to the war, like other countries; also the US power on the world and its military grew and developed. Another postive changed was that many acts were passed in the US because of what happened during the war, also the United States grew relationships with other countries, The US then ended up creating a group called the United Nations, which was a peaceful way to settle conflicts amognst countries.
Alliances and treaties turned international incidents into world wars. The majority of both wars were fought on European and Asian soil, along with the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The wars had a huge effect on the United States; on the economy and its society. Most of the physical damage took place overseas, but both World War I and II had lasting effects on the United States and its people. World War II had a greater impact on the United States than World War I, because it brought the United States out of the greatest depression in the country’s history and made the United States a leading world power.

The United States was the same way, in that it quickly got back on track after the war. When the first world war ended, Americans were set on staying neutral and not getting involved. But after the Pearl Harbor bombing, they joined WWII. They had successfully ended the war by forcing Japan to surrender, and created the Marshall Plan which financially supported many Western European countries. America helped reconstruct Europe after the devastation the war caused. While the US did bomb Japan, destroying its cities and killing many people, they became allies later on and helped rebuild the damage they created. Thousands of US citizens joined the military and several died, and during the war the country was poverty-stricken. Many Americans were
Many women lives changed in many ways during World War II. Men went to war and went to work in factories in other parts of the country. With fewer men in the workforce, women had to fill more traditionally male jobs and had to pick up their husband's responsibilities. Most women thought there place was to be in the home and to take care of the wounded soldiers. Their main responsibility was cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children, and looking her best. Women were not only asked to complete daily chores and responsibilities that were normally expected of them, instead they were asked to go to work during war time. So when the war broke out, and it was clear that America would not be able to win the war without the help of their women. The traditional housewives and mothers turned into wartime workers. December 7th 1941, the United States was blindsided by the Japanese in the worst attack on United States soil in history at the time. Without warning or even a declaration of war the Japanese attacked the Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. The surprise attack destroyed and sunk two U.S. Navy battleships and severally damaged five others. The attacks also killed around 2,400 and injured around another 1,180. In return on December 8th, the next day, the United States declared war on Japan and sided with the allies. This put the US in a war they were trying to stay out of more the majority of its duration. Once the US declared war on Japan, Hitler turned around and declared war on the US. So then the US was involved in all parts of the war and everyone had to step up to make it happen. Men enlisted right away to help serve the country that they were so proud to be part of. When they began to be deployed they had to leave their jobs and families to support themselves so someone had to step up to do the work the men had been doing. That someone was the women of the household, this time in history was a turning point for the women’s status in the work force and at the home. During WW2 the presence of men at home was to a bare minimum. The impact this had on women was felt throughout the nation. How women would be looked at would be changed forever.
