Before we can begin building web architecture, the system analyst would need to examine the needs of the organization and then develop a concise set of goals pertaining to the organization. However since, the old web site of the company is still running it would be prudent to know the technical and business related matters linked with the former website. On this same track we should also determine if the IT office for the company has the required experience and skill sets necessary for the execution of this project. The company might have to outsource for supplementary resources, training, and contracting consultants for the project’s success (Nelson et.al, 2010). It is ideal to do the migration during non-peak hours which is usually in the middle of the night as to minimize the inconvenience for users. Below are the steps which should be implemented by the company to abate the downtime during migration. 1. DNS Preparation: Prior to the process of migration the company would assure that the TTL is set to an hour for all the DNS records. This step should be completed 48 hours before the migration begins. During this process the company will make sure that when the migration is finished the IP address, the switch and website data contained in the DNS records will move to the new location swiftly. 2. Inventory Collection: The Company will confirm that its web directory and the database are moved correctly. Along, with that the company will also generate a list of all the items that are required to be moved from the previous website to the new one. This will probably include distinctive server arrangements for the website. Just in case there are any existing Cron jobs that need to be setup on the new server. 3. Displaying a Sorry Note: The company will develop a small page with the site logo on it, and it will display a note “Sorry for the

The common attribute all successful information architectures share is a strategic purpose that is unified around specific, measurable, customer-centric goals. The more precise an information architectures' purpose and objectives, the greater the potential it has to attain a high level of agility and permanency in customers' and users' daily routines and lives (Spencer, 1985). Information architecture is the catalyst that unifies the mission or purpose of a website, serves as the catalyst of its short- and long-range goal attainment and also ensures its relevancy over time The intent of this analysis is to evaluate the discussions and interviews completed with colleagues with regard to creating series of recommendations that will provide present and future students of the BSITM Program with a roadmap of lessons learned.
