The Industrial Revolution was marked as the biggest shift from an agrarian, handcrafted economy, to an economy dominated by machines. The Industrial Revolution began during the 1700s in Great Britain when King George III was in power. The Industrial Revolution had many positive effects such as the invention of the railroad. It also had many negative effects like how many got sick and died because of the working conditions. Out of all the positive and the negative effects the lasting effects were major. One of the most major lasting effects was the environmental laws that were put in place to stop all of the pollution and trash in the sewage.
The Industrial Revolution had many positive effects. One of them being the invention of the railroad. The railroad changed the way of transportation. It helped people get around quicker and cheaper (Document 5). Also with the Industrial Revolution the houses started getting built better and the clothes got cheaper Document 5). So with this the standard of living for the people improved. Standard of living is the

Many people working had very poor living conditions. Friedrich Engels describes the England streets, the slums, ¨...unpaved, full of holes, filthy and strewn with refuse.”and their rivers as ¨...coal-black and full of stinking filth and rubbish…(Document 9)¨ It wasn't just bad at their homes it was also bad at their work. Joseph Hebergam was a man who had been working at one of the many mills that had horrible working conditions. Working in these horrible conditions Joseph was told he would die within the year of 1832 because he had a severe illness. When asked how he got the illness he responded with, ¨He (the doctor) told me it was caused by the dust in the factories and from overwork and insufficient diet...¨ People just did not die because of an illness they also died from infections. These mills were working their workers to
The Industrial Revolution began in England during the 18th Century. This revolution started out in England, and spread throughout Europe and North America. Many technologic and agricultural advances were made during this time. Factories became the main source of production, rather than in home workers. This resulted in many people living in rural areas to move into industrialized cities, which was called rural to urban migration. The Industrial Revolution started in England due to its supply of natural resources, advanced technology and inventions, and political freedom.
The Industrial Revolution began in Great in late 1700’s. Where many inventions increased the manufactured goods. Soon, people all over the country were turning to more complex machines that could perform tasks faster and more efficiently than human labor alone. In the Industrial Revolution there were many impacts and effects. Both short term and long term positives and with that always comes negatives. The short term negatives included child labor, poor working conditions, untreated human waste, deaths and hygiene issues. Also short term positives such as less deaths at birth, more produced goods and increased life expectancy. Along with short term effects also came long term impacts. The negative long terms impacts include population growth,
The Industrial Revolution was a major turning point in history that took place between 1760 and the mid 1800’s. During this time frame, a variety of different machines were invented and put in factories to make workers and everyday people’s lives easier. These machines had to be run by people such as women and even children because the men were mostly in coal mines. Some of the many negative consequences about these new jobs and new machines being invented were; child labor, physical abuse on the job, and unsafe working conditions. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because more jobs became available, it was actually a negative thing.
The Industrial Revolution was a long, slow, uneven process in which production shifted from simple hand tools to complex machines. The revolution began in 1750, in Great Britain, where many new sources of power began to replace humans and animals. It started with improved methods of farming, a population explosion, and new technology. It was a success and innovated many aspects of life. However, to get to all the good, the Industrial Revolution had to go through some bad.
The Industrial Revolution, as described by Stephen Gardiner, was “another of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.” During this time period, some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society. Industrialization involved the use of child labor, negatively affected the environment, and had harsh working conditions in factories. However, I will counter that it actually had a greater positive effect for society. As a result of Industrialization, the United States rose to become the world’s largest economic power and people were able to enjoy new amenities that weren’t previously available.
In American history, the Industrial Revolution was a huge impact to our everyday lives. The Industrial Revolution was a time when many inventions were made to help make daily life easier. Although working conditions were poor and some inventions caused pollution, these inventions were very beneficial. The Industrial Revolution was a positive period in American history.
The Second American Industrial Revolution was a time of great social improvements and advances in technology. It was also a time of great turmoil for the workforce and the lower class. Industrialization allowed the growth in gross national product of the United States, which helped improve the economy (doc 1). The period of advancements that dramatically aided in the growth of America occurred between 1780 and 1860. This growth included movement from rural areas to urban areas. In 1870, 70% of the population lived in rural areas, but by 1910, only 54% lived in rural areas (doc 1). The flight from the farmland and the immigration movement overpopulated the cities. It affected both rich and poor, both natives and immigrants. The Industrial Revolution
In the 1760s though the 1820’s Britain started to use machines to produce goods instead of doing it by hand mostly, due to the fact that the items were easier to maker, therefore making them cheaper, and improving life. This also spawned, much later though, the digital revolution, which involved using technology, not machinery. The Industrial Revolution transformed the European society by, making busier cities, increasing the population, and polluting the continent.
Before the Industrial Revolution most people farmed, produced most goods at home, and traded locally. The Industrial Revolution was when they began to use machines to produce goods. The Industrial Revolution started in the late 1700s - early 1900s. There were many economic and social effects in the Industrial Revolution. Some of these effects included child labor, faster production of goods, poor living conditions, and more money being made. The effects of the Industrial Revolution were more positive economically because factories made more money, but negative socially because it affected workers’ health and well being.
In the 1700s England went through a major change which would soon spread to the rest of Europe and finally the rest of the world. This major change was referred to as The Industrial Revolution which signaled a shift from agriculture to industry. People were pushed out the of the farms and into factories. This major change effected all types of people from farmers and peasants to inventors. The Industrial Revolution began in England because of its location and resources, their innovations and the new tools they created, the labor force of farmers and peasants working in the factories along with no political interference.
The Industrial Revolution that took place throughout the 18th and the 19th centuries had major effects which influenced every aspect of society and life such as, urbanization, imperialism and nationalism. The industrial revolution had an unfathomable effect on shaping the modern world to what it is today. Before the revolution, society revolved around farming and agriculture. There were only two social classes, the nobility and the working class. Little did they know, that their lives were about to change dramatically and continue changing for the next generations to come.
During 1870, the Europeans industrialized nations wanted to maximize their profits globally because they cannot sell their products domestically. The expansion needed raw materials, control of markets, and cheap labor. The industrial economy can only work if they have firm control over these regions. After the Industrial Revolution, dependent colonies often provided to European factories and markets the raw materials they needed to manufacture products. Merchants often established trading posts and warehouses, created transportation infrastructure, and sought control over the Suez Canal in Egypt. In addition, Imperial powers competed with each over for the best potential resources, markets, and trade.
Animals thats what the wealthy would say about the working man in the industrial revolution because of the state of condition they live in. The way they live was because they didn't have enough money to live like the wealthy they also live like that because their landlord design it the place they can afford like that. The condition were that they were to cramped so there were like 3 to 4 families that live in just one room and that way they spread around disease also with no toilet around they had to do their business in like a bowl or outside the window but leaving it in a bowl but imagine the smell of that all night. Thinking of how bad it must of had been to live in those kind of conditions makes me sick to my stomach.
The Industrial Revolution was a time of great advancements and is essentially the reason why we have all of the things we do today. It originated in Great Britain and it affected everything from the daily lives of people to how items were produced. Before the Industrial Revolution, people worked from their homes using the basic machines and tools there were. But because of the Industrial Revolution, lots of new and efficient machinery was invented, there were more jobs created and everyday lives of townspeople were changed, and population along with lifespan started to increase.
The Industrial Revolution, was a period of sudden and effective changes that lasted from 1780-1914. (Van Tol, Ottery, & Keith, 2012). Through the course of time, there were many advances in technology, this took lives from being agricultural to industrial. Machines were being used in every sector of the industries. This brought down the prices of goods, making them affordable by everyone and led to significant effects, many positive but also negative ones. It mainly resulted in the improvement of lives, but, it also had considerable negative effects such as child labour, pollution of the environment, countryside being replaced by cities, buildings and factories, crowding and spread of diseases due to overpopulation.
