Project #1 Report
“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude,” stated as the 15th amendment in the United States Constitution from the Primary Documents in American History. Most Americans vote for the candidate who represents their party, which is completely reasonable. However, it’s important to research each of the other applicants to get a better understanding of their views and intentions, before casting in your ballot. For example, one of the lesser-known candidates, Jill Stein, shares some great ideas and perspectives on many key issues erupting through

This is where she earned her Bachelor’s degree and her M.D. She is an activist who participates in many health care debates, and practices as a physician. Although she entered the political game only about ten years ago, Stein has many strong beliefs on key issues and topics. She believes that vaccines should be required to help protect children and families and to also prevent outbursts of health threats to the community. Stein does not think that Obamacare is helping single-payers and wants quality health care to be of easier access to all. Medical advocates should also be accessible to all to increase the public health. She thinks that diseases and outbreaks are worldwide …show more content…
There are many exemplary applicants this year and it would be beneficial to research each and every one of them. Jill Stein is a very strong leader and an even more worthy candidate to fill the role of the president of the United States. Some of her key issues are ways to improve the environment, healthcare, education, violence, discrimination, and more. Stein is a strong, smart, and determined candidate who can put these issues and policies into effect if she’s voted into the oval office. Those who have done their research on the candidates will have a chance to vote for Jill Stein in the 2016 United States Presidential election. Works Cited

Everybody knows all about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton at this point, but with these two candidates failing to satisfy the American people, more citizens are beginning to look towards using their votes for other candidates, rather than supporting the lesser of two evils. With so many people losing faith in both their candidates and their political parties, it is important that the public know all about the two leading third party candidates, namely Jill Stein of the Green Party and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party. They experience reasonable success considering their lack of media exposure and mainstream appeal, and this can be attributed to their relevant and well thought out platforms. Stein and Johnson share a fair amount of common
Senator Kamala Harris from Alabama is a democratic senator for the state of California. Prior to that, she held the role of 32nd Attorney General of California and District Attorney of San Francisco. Before her political career she served as managing attorney of the Career Criminal Unit in San Francisco and later as chief of the community and neighborhood division. Kamala Harris is also the first woman and Jamaican American to become attorney general, as well as third woman of color and 1st biracial woman elected into the senate. 1 This Howard University graduate is used to filling significant roles. She is currently serving on the Committee on Intelligence (Select), Committee on the Budget, Committee on Environment and Public Works, Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.2
Born in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., she attended Wellesley College, then earning a J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Yale Law School in 1973. This hardworking presidential candidate is a woman who’s been fighting for children and families for over forty years. Someone who has provided her best works in reaching over the limits of a woman and providing millions of children with health care. This person is Hillary Clinton, and these are the only some of the biggest accomplishments she has made during her lifetime, there can and will be more if she gets voted as President of the United States of 2016-2020. She has been through many experiences in government, such as being an American lawyer and politician, U.S.
Immigration: Jill Stein, in contrast with Donald Trump, believes that immigrants are not to blame for economic troubles and “stealing jobs” instead it’s that “our jobs went overseas due to NAFTA and other free trade agreements.” In order to end the waves of immigrants coming in, Stein says we need to fix the economic problems that are sparked by the current American trade policies. Stein cites immigrants as the “backbone of our economy,” citing that “In Alabama, their tomato industry collapsed to the tune of billions of dollars when they passed very harsh anti-immigrant laws and the immigrants left town” and advocates for a welcoming path to legal residency. Stein wants to end deportations that separate families, and calls for an end to the war on immigrants, stating that the Green New Deal would do so. Stein does not believe in a pathway to citizenship for immigrants with criminal backgrounds.
During the late 19th century, women were in a society where man was dominant. Women not having natural born rights, such as the right to vote, to speak in public, access to equal education, and so forth, did not stop them to fight for their rights. Women's lives soon changed when Lucy Stone, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony played a prominent role to help bring about change.
It is such a great opportunity to write the letter to you, and talk about how important the women’s suffrage is for all women of the world. Through the letter you will know and understand what I have learned in abroad, and also I hope we could be really brave like those women who were in the women’s suffrage movement. We are from a country that women cannot be treated as same as men even in voting, but women voting is really important in any country of the world because it shows to the whole world that we are a very important part of a country, and we could help and vote for good movement and policy for politician to run our country. Women had been denied
Jill Stein is against the TPP, but so are all the other presidential candidates except for Johnson. I believe that it is very important to be against pipelines and anything that can potentially pollute our country, and the world. Obviously, I do not agree with Johnson, but I am glad that the Trump and Clinton are both against it. But, Stein is the only candidate who is very pro green energy, which is something that is very important to me. Pipelines and fossil fuels are damaging our planet and Stein is the only candidate who is very, very pro clean energy.
We first talked about whether or not voters should vote, but now let’s look on the other hand of the candidates. Another issue that faces the candidates is
Kate Steinle’s death, including the judiciary hearing, is a historical current event because it’s repercussions and concerns will have a long lasting affect on the world, especially the United States. Her solemn death, along with others murdered by illegal immigrants, has caused the citizens of the United States to attempt to increase the enforcement of immigration laws, and therefore add more protection to the country now and in the future. Nevertheless, strengthening the immigration laws in the United States will have a large impact on the world. If America’s “sanctuary” communities begin to cooperate with the federal immigration enforcement, then the country could become much safer, amicable, and endure less death. However, the people immigrating
In recent weeks, quite a bit of attention has been given to the impact nontraditional activists will have on the upcoming presidential election. What do you think are the key issues these activists should require the candidates to speak on and/or clarify their positions about? Feel free to use any issues that have actually been raised if you can recall them.
Gloria Steinem once said,” We need to be long-distance runners to make a real social revolution. And you can't be a long-distance runner unless you have some inner strangely strength.” Gloria Steinem did indeed have the inner strength needed to create a social revolution. Gloria Steinem was a pioneer in feminist who overcame all of the hardships that stood in her way in her life. Gloria's early years where both chaotic and adventurous.
There has been so much progress on equal rights for women for many decades. The feminist movement is currently in its third wave. Many powerful women have come up to lead and make huge differences for women rights. Gloria Steinem being one of them, a women still being talked about today. Steinem was born on March 25, 1934, she was a feminist, journalist, social and political activist. She made her biggest impact in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the second wave of feminism.
There are many different presidential candidates vying for the White House. The candidate I chose for this paper on the surface seemed to be a viable candidate. However, I have come to realize she may not be the best choice for our country at this time. My paper will look at her life, the best things about her policies, and the all the things that, if implemented, would be a detriment to our country.
For decades, Gloria Steinem has been a source of inspiration for women and men determined to advance the path towards gender equality. While belonging to the second wave of feminism, she was one of the first feminists to highlight the intersectional character of the cause. In light of the recent events that led to the creation of the “Black Lives Matter” network and the subsequent discussion about white feminism in the US, examining the life and work of Gloria Steinem is both an opportunity and a necessary task to learn how to historically situate these recent debates.
Being an informed voter, I would like to talk about the issues facing our nation as well as offer a comparison of the current candidates for President, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I will also outline the issues facing the United States which I find important and give a brief comparison between the candidates and who I agree with.
