Introduction
Deciding on a career is an important life decision. In order to make an educated decision, reflection on what you want your life to be like is necessary. I would like a job where I can utilize my interest in math and science, have the opportunity to research, create, and develop revolutionary ideas and processes. However, there is more the selecting a career than personal interests. I would like to have a life outside of my job, which would mean I need a structured schedule that is not susceptible to change. Also, I would like to travel quite a bit during my life, and I would need to make enough money to accommodate the expenses of traveling. In addition, I would like to have a job where advancement opportunities are available,

According to the Occupation Outlook Handbook chemical engineers use chemistry, biology, physics and math to solve problems. They conduct research, develop new manufacturing processes and design new materials all while having the opportunity to specialize in numerous areas. This means that I would be able to utilize my interest for math and science in day to day life, and this career would match my personal interests.
I conducted an interview with Ryan Winner, a chemical engineering in Cody, to gain insight into the hours and life style of a chemical engineer. He has worked in Cody Laboratories for eight years, and he said that he works hours from nine to three on weekdays and he rarely works during the weekends. Hours can change due to deadlines or meetings but most of the time it is consistent. In addition, Ryan discussed that he chose chemical engineering because he enjoys a challenge and it keeps every day interesting. Chemical engineers often know more about a project than anyone else and he enjoys that kind of responsibility in his life. This career would provide me the structured schedule I want, and it matches my desire of having responsibility and

Industry chemical engineering jobs require a lot of on the job training, and the information takes a while to learn. Switching companies would mean starting over with job training, and it could be a setback in a career. Also, working on a research project requires familiarity with the project, so it may be a while before a person can contribute. Switching research requires time to become familiar with the project, so this would also set a career behind. While moving companies may be a hurdle in a career path, there is no shortage of jobs for chemical engineers. It would be possible to move somewhere new and find a job easily, as long as it is in a sizeable
Out of all of the skin care products in the world, your bathroom cabinet needs to be filled with products researched and designed by me. When I entered high school, I discovered my passion for selecting lip sticks, lip glosses, lotions, perfumes, and makeup foundations. You name it. After learning about the connections between the information in my chemistry class and these items, a light bulb went off! I maintained an A average in chemistry throughout the whole year! Additionally, in 2014, I became a student in the Academy of Engineering and Technology, which also heightened my interests in chemistry. In a science fair at that academy, there was a chemistry course where we made colorful slime, and during that process, I learned that I get an adrenaline rush when I am mixing different chemicals together to see what the outcome is. Majoring in chemistry at Norfolk State University will definitely prepare me for a very successful future in chemistry! My ultimate goal is to conduct research and development for chemical cosmetics. I plan to obtain employment at the greatest companies in the world such as L'Oréal and Avon.
Life is full of decisions. You have the choice to decide what you want to do for a career. Some may have jobs they wish they could change or made the decision before to have done something differently. The career you choose should be something you love, along with aspects that fit your values the best. Interest, skills, financially that you know you can excel in. A plan for life is important, so it’s best to know or have an idea on what you want to proceed in.

As revealed by my personal Life Styles Inventory (Figure 1), my primary thinking style and back-up thinking style were Conventional (4 o’clock position) and Affiliative (2 o’clock position) respectively. There are many ways in which both the Conventional thinking style and Affiliative thinking style manifest in my life and work, none of which were all that evident until I explored my personal Life Styles Inventory. As stated in the Life Styles Inventory, my primary thinking style, the Conventional Style “measures our tendency to act in a conforming way…representing a preoccupation with adhering to rules and established procedures, maintaining a low profile, and
Butler (2009) summarized; the purpose of a life review is usually to encourage feelings of peace in an older adult’s life. The end result of a purposeful life review often concludes in a sense of connectedness with the healthcare provider. A life review paper is usually done during the palliative phase of an older adult’s life. The subject of a life review paper definitely does not have to be a palliative patient. In fact, many older adults can benefit in just about any developmental phase, described by Butler as varying phases of health and illness. (p. 21) The objective of this paper is to help the subject feel a greater sense of connectedness; as established by Butler (2009), and empower
For many years, engineers have transformed life and technology. Engineers are scientists, mathematicians, inventors, and project planners combined. An engineer takes information from various fields and applies that information to solve problems. Engineers invent solutions and products in every field, including disciplines like aerospace, software, biomedical, chemical, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. All engineers are given a similar basic education, but they also choose one of these specific disciplines to be trained in. As for chemical engineers, they are responsible for manufacturing chemicals and developing processes for doing so. Along with researching the issues, the chemical engineer must
Some might say it is not the job of chemical engineers to think of ways to save the climate, but as part of the ALCHE code of ethics, it is of their labor to “hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public and protect the environment in performance of their professional duties” (smartsite). Not helping would not only not break the code but would lack the service of the interests and safety of society. Chemical engineering promises breakthroughs in technological advances to improve ways to obtain energy from other sources such as the sun to “reduce dependence on fossil fuel, reduce global warming gasses, stimulate the economy and create jobs” (Wolf 3).
There are more and more jobs types, this made people choose a job difficultly. For lovers of chemistry and physics and organic chemistry, there are two possible jobs: quality control chemist and synthesis chemist. People who enjoy socializing should think about sales too. For applying for a job, the thing people must to do is have a resume or CV, and send it to human resources. They can go the old-fashioned route of looking through newspaper ads as well as use the power of the internet and search numerous websites.
The chemical Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth was founded in 1947 and it has been offering programs leading to Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering (B.S.Ch.E) by using modern hand-on laboratory and design technologies. In addition, the department also uses active learning experiences that prepare students for professional success and research experiences for undergraduate students. Most of all, the department of chemical engineering produces engineers with great communication skills, teamwork, and problem solving skills and provides students with everyday experience in the industrial facilities.
The idea of seeing a project come to life is what provokes my desire to become an engineer. In the past, engineers have created the greatest historic innovations such as health technology. My passion for chemical engineering is seeing how the fundamental theories of Chemistry, Physics and Math can be applied to create an innovative industry. In very concrete ways, engineers
I left my undergraduate career conflicted about whether to pursue a degree in chemistry or chemical engineering. Through a combination of independent research, advice from mentors, and on-the-job industrial experience, I have realized that my interests align more with chemical engineering. The broad range of career paths and opportunities for technological innovation draws me to the field of engineering. With chemical, physical, and mathematical concepts as well as industrial know-how, engineers transform ideas into useful and attainable products that impact the lives of many.
Researches depict that the unprecedented growth rate in the industries whether it be food processing, distilleries, pharmaceuticals, tanneries and many more is causing major problems in the environment due to use of different chemicals or use of the processes that are quite harmful or mismanagement in general or even transportation in general. Though, all of these is changing, with use of more environmental friendly methods and materials but a lot is yet to be changed. Since, these industries are mainly governed by and require a deep knowledge of chemical engineering, along with knowledge of biotechnology and environment; I want to pursue a research career in chemical engineering by doing my PhD in chemical engineering.
According to “What Do Chemical Engineers Do?”, chemical engineers work in many different fields such as: manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, design and construction, pulp and paper, petrochemicals, food processing, specialty chemicals, polymers, business services, biotechnology, and environmental health and safety industries.
A Chemical Engineer has problems that are unseen because of the rewarding pay scale and job offers. Assisting the aid of every living creative survive in some way daily is not always relaxing or satisfying. The career becomes challenging for a chemical engineer to preserve foods for ones eating habits, fuel for a variable of cars and prepare the compounds of medicine for man and animals. These are only a few problems that chemical engineers face. Chemical Engineers are ultimately a helpful career for society, yet research has shown that there is difficulty within how to find employment, the tedious education programs, and the working conditions.
Chemical engineering is a research oriented field which has flourished over the centuries and finds its applications in almost every product we use in our life these days. The myriad and multifarious applications of this branch always captivated me.
