Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”-Martin Luther King Jr. I believe that the quote means that from hate no more can come and the only other thing to is love. Martin Luther King Jr. was an important and influential figure in history that had a positive impact on the world because during his time there was discrimination against blacks in the U.S, without Martin Luther King blacks might not have equal rights right now and there would still be discrimination and racism every day against blacks.

MLK achieved many accomplishments, including winning the Nobel peace prize in 1964. Martin Luther king is also known for his “I Have A Dream” speech.The “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered by Martin Luther King, Jr. before a crowd of some 250,000 people at the 1963 March on Washington, remains one of the most famous speeches in history. Weaving in references to the country’s Founding Fathers, King used the themes to show the struggles of African Americans, before ending with a riff on his dreams of equality. The speech was endured as one of the signature moments of the civil rights movement. All this,but he received multiple threats because of what he did. He was arrested over twenty times for protesting. He was the target of several violent attacks, both to his person and his property. He received threatening phone calls, his home was bombed and set afire, and he was also stabbed. He had so many wrong things happen to him in his life,but he dealt with it and stood up for us. Martin Luther King was also a great leader and some of the traits that he possessed were intelligence, self-confidence, and determination. We can all look up to him because was a very humble man and he loved and forgave everyone. We should all be a little bit more like Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. is a well known and an inspiring man to all cultures of the world. King was and still is one of the most influential heroes. King 's views and believes helped African Americans through the 50 's and 60 's to the rights and liberties that was their right. King faced many obstacles on his journey, things like jail and even assassination attempts. Despite these obstacles, he became a successful leader during the Civil Rights Movement and after his death, by guiding African Americans in a non-violent and positive direction for the fight to secure rights and equality for blacks.
