I chose the The McGowan-Hill Companies. Having attended a traditional school I know full well how important McGraw-Hill Companies is to the student body and their work with Textbooks and Tests. I was not aware they dabbled into areas that are outside the realm of education such as publishing included but not limited to, magazines such as BusinessWeek and AviationWeek. Additionally, it seem that this company has a hand in broadcasting, as well as financial and business services, both of which I was not aware of. Their mission statement is as follow;
When looking over the company website(2) I am finding that it doesn't clearly state their mission statement anywhere on their “About Us” page, as it is more centered around education directed as students. On this page you can find statistical analysis on the numerical values of their revenue as well as growth and digitization. You will also find a comprehensive timeline of achievements in the educational department of McGraw-Hill, and a three minute video outlining their history and connection with students. This being said, upon further investigation it seems that the original mission statement listed above does not appear on the website at all. It seems as though the new mission statement is geared towards education instead of the original which focuses on

I believe there may be a multitude of reasons as to why there is no mention of their mission statement ton the “About us” page, possibly because the website is geared towards consumers and not potential employees. This user-friendly type website could, prospectively, help students and teachers alike choose of whom they receive Text Books and Tests from. This business strikes as a extremely consumer based business when looking over their website, and begs to differ why their original mission statement clashes so
If I were to analyze the company's mission statement according to the elements of a mission statement enumerated by David and David, it would be as follows:
The decision as to what the school’s mission statement should be is often defined by the type of school and its outside links. For example, a faith school would more than likely include reference to its church or God. This would be reflected in the school’s practices in the form of daily worship or prayer and visits to its
Yes the company reflects its mission statement and the reason why i said yes are as follow:
Mission statement: Our mission is to help people live healthier lives and to help make the health system work better for everyone.
Our mission is to provide charitable relief in the form of Educational Advancement and Academic Development.
Alabama A&M University has numerous student organizations to get involved in. They have cultural, Greek, academic, and etc organizations that you can join. Two of those organizations have caught my eye so far. I want to join Pep Squad, Chemistry Club, Southern Belles and PAC.
“The mission of University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is to offer top-quality educational opportunities to adult students in Maryland, the nation, and the world, setting the global standard of excellence in adult education. By offering academic programs that are respected, affordable and accessible technologically and through a variety of face-to-face formats, UMUC broadens the range of career opportunities available to students, improves their lives, and maximizes their economic and intellectual contributions to Maryland, the nation, and the world.”
This is the other remark that I found in the mission statement. Again, this statement does not match
The department of human resources at UC Davis have a mission they hope to achieve. Their mission is to connect with the outside community but how? Well on their website http://www.hr.ucdavis.edu/about/index.html the information says they offer a program to the community to get people involved in HR under the subtitle “Mission’’. Than they state on their website they want to ‘‘inspire all people’’ but in their mission statement they earn satisfaction through others basically in order for them to succeed they must Keep earning support so they can inspire the world around them so it balances out in a sense. Their website reflects their mission statement just not with the same wording. On the website they say they “promote excellence’’ ,but
The mission statement is the vision of the founder. A man who recognized the glaring holes in the food market industry, and filled them with his passion to make food shopping a customer orientated experience.
I believe it is straightforward and direct towards students and faculty members. The school’s mission statement is really an advocate towards students succeeding by with the different objectives. I have been fortunate to have wonderful and understanding professors who care and acknowledge me. I learned multicultural and international perspectives from each of my classes such as values, ethics, and cultural engagement. Overall, CI truly motivate me and challenge me to be vigorous and honest. I understand that the school has dilemmas such as class schedules, and limited parking capacity. However, over the years, I learned that there is no perfect society. Schools will continue to obtain dilemmas, therefore, I strive in taking advantage of the opportunities that the school has to
According to JLP (2005), State Farm’s mission statement seeks to display its mission, vision, and shared values. It states:
The heart of the company is about selling books. On this both their website and mission are the same. They are booksellers and that is stressed very often in both sources. They
In Marywood University’s mission statement, it says that the University “roots itself in the Catholic intellectual tradition, the principle of justice, and the belief that education empowers people” it goes on to say that the University “integrates an enduring liberal arts tradition and professional disciplines to create a comprehensive learning experience.”(Marywood University) As an incoming architecture student, one may ask how a liberal arts tradition could be paired with the disciplined field of architecture. In order to understand this seemingly odd relationship, you must dig deeper into the core values of the University. During the Orientation Weekend that was held before the start of the Fall Semester, incoming students were exposed
I choose Morgan Stanley for this Mission statement assign, and the answer of “Did I found mission statement on their web site” is no, as the statement shows on http://www.missionstatements.com/investment_services_management_mission_statements.html as “Morgan Stanley's mission is to provide our clients with the finest financial thinking, products and execution. This means setting the highest standards for behaviors that embody our business principles.” But I found their web site as "At Morgan Stanley, diversity is an opportunity – for clients, employees and Firm. By valuing diverse perspectives, we can better serve our clients while we help employees achieve their professional objectives. A corporate culture that is open and inclusive is fundamental
