Research design
This refers to the plan, structure and format of any scientific or statistical work. It serves the purpose of guiding the researcher in his study and will set out the framework to be used. Research design will basically cover the data collection process, tools of collecting such data, how the tools will be used to collect data and how to analyze the collected data into a useful form (Gosling, 2014). A problem will be raised by researcher in which he will carry out his course study to draw an answer throughcollecting data (Meyer, et al, 2012).
The research process is as follows: Statement of problem is identified( Research problem); Making a plan how to start the actual research is determined; Determining research type to use and Stating methods to use. The research problem will be identified as follows:
1. Obtaining a problem you are already aware of. You may choose from social environment and any other facts that researcher knows.
2. Asking from experts and teachers. This is also another avenue of obtaining a research problem. Practitioners can be interviewed who will provide a much deeper insight to a problem. This is one of the best methods since practitioners have myriad of experience in research field and
3. Reviewing from books
The following are the types of research design:
Action form of Research Design
This type of research design follows a process where an exploratory approach is adopted, a detailed interpretation of research problem and action
Then this is followed by the determination of the research design, which the researcher will summarize the theory and determine if an experimental design is a correct design to utilize to answer the proposed question for this project (Gribbons, & Hermon, 1997).
Beginning on p. 85 of Potter and Perry they describe the characteristics of research with a number of definitions you need to study. The sooner you grasp these concepts the better off you will be in future courses.
Clearly states the research objectives and the intended methods of research based on the identified key area/s of research. Explain why the proposed methods of research are suitable for the research to be conducted.
Part 1 - All research activities begin with a question. Research, in its most basic form is the process of answering that question, or questions. Academic research, though, is a systematic process of collecting and analyzing information so that it increases the understanding of the phenomenon under study (Holton & Burnett, 2005). Regardless of the complexity or nature of the research project, there are at least eight characteristics that help define the process: 1) Research originates with a question or a problem; 2) Research requires a clear articulation of a goal; 3) Research follows a specific plan of procedure; 4) Research usually divides the principal problem into more manageable sub-problems; 5) Research is guided by the specific research problem, question, or hypothesis;6) Research accepts certain critical assumptions. These assumptions are underlying theories or ideas about how the world works; 7) Research requires the collection and interpretation of data in attempting to resolve the problem that initiated the research (Leedy & Ormrod, 2009).
Write a research proposal will need a lot of relevant information. We can use many methods to find the relevant and useful information, in can include: questionnaires、books、textbooks、magazines、newspapers、internet and all kind of medias.
These approaches and elements are closely related in the design of research. Initial step in research is to assess the what kind of knowledge claims brought to use, what kind of strategy of inquiry to consider, and to identify specific methods to be used. Using these three elements, a researcher can then identify either the quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods approach to inquiry.
When selecting a research approach, Creswell (2014) outlines criteria that affect the choice of one approach over another. I have already discussed how my worldview, personal experiences, and identified problem of practice and the questions affect my research. The design, methods, and audience of my emerging research will also be considered in terms of choosing a research approach.
Research design is needed because it facilitates the smooth sailing of the various research operations, thereby making research as efficient as possible yielding maximal information with minimal expenditure of effort, time and money. Different research designs can be conveniently described if we categorize them as:(1) Research design in case of exploratory research studies;(2) Research design in case of descriptive and diagnostic research studies, and(3) Research design in case of hypothesis-testing research studies.
This section highlights the main aspects of Research design whereby research approaches and their associated methods are explored in depth.
There are many ways to approach on solving a research topic using various scientific methods. Research methods are mainly use in decision making that guide the researchers to develop and test out their hypothesis to their study. Action research is a type of applied research that uses systemic approach to evaluate and observe countless solutions to a problem. Action research is most likely to be used in educational setting, where educators to find and use applicable information to solve and improve an issue in a collaborative setting (Creswell, 2005). Action research is unique since it can be done in collaboration with educators with similar goal and mind set. Action research uses mixed method study where it includes both qualitative and quantitative data. The usage of systemic approach along with scientific method it enables researchers to gather unbiased information during data gather and decision making.
Research design is a process to make the framework and the show the flow of the research from beginning steps until end which are detailed. The Figure 1 shows the steps of the research design.
The researcher had been considering various types of research design; the most suitable and fit with this research is a
The chapter focuses on to identify the research approach, research onion and the research philosophy to conduct the research in proper manner. The research design based on which the entire research will be conducted is identified in the chapter in details. Robson and McCartan (2016) argued that the specific research process requires to be identified by the researcher to conduct the research efficiently. The research methodology identified in the chapter will help the researcher to formulate the outcomes of the study.

Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. Research methodology not only talks of the research methods but also consider the logic behind the methods we use in the context of our research study and explain why we are using a particular method or technique and why we are not using others so that research results are capable of behind evaluated either by the researcher himself or by others.
