8 Patients right and Ethical concerns
Ethical approval was obtained from the relevant ethics panel of college of Nursing, Mansoura-University to carry out the study. Verbal consent was obtained from every patient before his/her inclusion into the study after clarification of the aims of the study. The researcher emphasised that participation is is completely voluntary and patients may withdraw from the study at any time .confidential. Anonymity, privacy, rights, safety of the sample was completely assured from the start of the study.
2.9 Data analysis
Data was analyzed by adapting SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version fifteen.. Qualitative data was presented as number and percent. Comparison between groups was done by Chi-Square

World Health Organization estimates that '84' million individuals will die of cancer between 2005 and 2015. Oral Mucositis is a frequently occurring and debilitating complication of chemotherapy. Consequently Oral Mucositis will result in malnutrition, fluid electrolyte imbalances, and different complications such as infection. In spite of large choice of prophylactic agents offered, there's very little consistency among institutions, and many commonly used interventions are not evidence-based. As well as, however Cryotherapy has shown some positive effects in preventing Mucositis, there are still some shortcomings for this intervention such as limited number of supporting studies which are predominantly designed on chemotherapy, for the above reasons . the researcher motivated to undertake this study. As ice cubes may be prepared promptly available and cheaper, individuals undergoing chemotherapy might effectively use this in their due course of therapy. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the of Cryotherapy on incidence and severity of chemotherapy-induced Oral Mucositis and Oral Mucositis related pain in patients treated with combined chemotherapy (Fluorouracil and Leucovorin) “Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.” James
Provided to each subject was a consent form to review and sign before their participation in this study. The researcher excluded any identifiable information from the data collection measures. Subjects received a number as they signed in for the information session. The researcher used these numbers to link the subjects to their surveys and their clinical assessments. Their numbers coordinated with the attendance form which was in the sole possession of the researcher. Institution
The purpose of this paper is to critique a quantitative study and to present a critical analysis on its research findings. The paper will discuss the elements influencing believability and robustness of research, including writing style, research problem, literature review, conceptual framework, research question, hypothesis, study sample, methods, data analysis and results, and discussion of the relevance and future directions.
Respect for human dignity includes two rights; the right to self-determination and the right to full disclosure. When conducting a research study these two rights must be maintained to ensure that the participants are not coerced into participation and that they are making the choice of their own free will. Patients must be provided with all the information necessary to make an informed decision and voluntarily participate. No deception or concealed data collection can be done because it will violate the patients’ rights.
It is a quantitative systematic review of controlled clinical trials related to prophylactic interventions used for chemo-induced oral mucositis using outpatient chemo regimen. Five out of the 23 clinical trials evaluated use of cryotherapy for oral mucositis prevention which provided strong data suggesting the efficacy of cryotherapy in preventing oral mucositis caused by the chemo agent 5-flurouracil (5-FU), an ambulatory treatment regimen. The findings of this article is helpful in establishing the role of oral cryotherapy in preventing mucositis only with the use of one particular chemotherapeutic agent, 5-FU. There is still much unknown on it's efficacy with other antineoplastic agents used in cancer treatments.
I will methodically analyze all parts of the study to assess the validity of the article, by contrasting and comparing the information provided, with previous literature. I will try to make sure that recommendations provided by the authors are congruous with nursing practice and beneficial to the advancement of it. I will as much as possible provide in depth detail of previous studies on the same topic that either support or contradict the analysis provided by this study and its authors.
The type of data the author collected were questionnaires that were given to the participants of the study to obtain demographic data on each participant’s age, race, marital status, education, and their knowledge of the
The patients who will be able be part of the inclusion criteria was asked to participate in the study. The purpose of the study, potential benefits and risks, right to confidentiality and right to withdrawal, even without explanation and retrospectively, has been explained through their mother tongue and clarification for any doubts was given through proper explanation. All participants was given a written, informed consent, and they had the chance to ask about it. In addition, they received a copy of the said consent. All records and forms was utilized only by the researchers for data purposes only. Any decisions by the patient due to inconvenience, like increased in pain, experienced from our study was respected. Confidentiality and anonymity was strictly observed by utilizing number allocations for each subject. Proper briefing, which includes: orientation to the intervention, expectations, purpose, and significance of their participation, and debriefing, which includes: thanksgiving, reassurance of confidentiality and anonymity, and providing the participants with the researcher’s contact details in case of concerns, was
The Research and Ethics Committee from the school nursing had a chance to analyze and approve the research proposal before the research begins to contact the participants. The researchers informed the participants of the contents and obtained consent from each participant. Participants were given the guarantee that confidentiality and the concept of beneficence would be respected. It was made clear to the participants that they could withdraw from the study at any time. Participation in the research was also voluntary.
This paper involves the critical analysis of a quantitative study and qualitative study. The results, discussion and global issues are discussed here. The author tried to identify the validity and trustworthiness of the study by conducting the critique.
This study uses empirical, longitudinal, and quantitative study as it’s methodology. The research design was descriptive and
This research makes use of both the primary and secondary data. The primary data for this research is collected with the help of surveys. This particular research makes use of closed ended questions in order to collect primary data. According to Loewy and Guffey (2009), secondary data is the one which is already available and it is accessed through the external materials. The data analysis and interpretation process identifies solution to the research problem. This study makes use of the statistical technique independent sample t test, F test for testing equality of variances and one way ANOVA to test the proposed hypothesis. In this research, descriptive research design makes use of the independent sample t test. Ethics in this study is strictly followed by the researcher and also data is maintained in
I give all praise to God who has allowed me to write this project. He is a faithful God and full of mercy.
This study will use quantitative methods of research. The major advantage of using quantitative research design is that it is an exceptional method for making conclusions and agreeing or disagreeing to any
The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical interpretation of the findings.
Presentation of Tabulated data:- In order to present the data tables, percentage bar diagrams and pie diagrams are used.
