Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that promotes the good through one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It has created lasting relationships between students with disabilities and their peers, therefore, helping to improve the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. It has also provided employment opportunities for those with IDD, allowing them to be productive members of the labour force. Lastly, Best Buddies has given those with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to realize their potential by encouraging them to become leaders.

A semi-detailed business overview of the non-profit organization known as the YMCA or Young Men’s Christian Association is discussed. A brief history of the origins of the company is detailed along with the definition or explanation of the company’s mission statement. Founded in 1942, the Ad Council is non-profit organization that delivers and benefits the lives of society every day. This organization works with tons of companies to promote powerful messages that would have an extreme impact across the country. The Ad Council continues to be the dominant producer in the United States for public service announcements changing the lives of many.

Children as young two or three years of age have the capability to open and close, manipulate, and surf the web through any given technological median (Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, and Smartphones). Given that fact, it would only be fitting that K-12 education take a turn towards the technological emersion. It is in this area where the unsaid organization 's true brilliance comes to shine.

The NCAA is a non-profit organization that organizes and executes college sports, which includes football, basketball, etc. Key word from the previous sentence would be “non-profit organization”. What kind of “non-profit organization” makes as much money as they do? The NCAA players bring in great revenue with their outstanding efforts in bringing their team up to the top, because that is what the fans like to watch. Now does it seem fair that the NCAA does not give the players back any money at all to the players that actually bring the money in? Ironically, I have never been outside the United States, but I know that experiencing other cultures can greatly affect someone's life. There are many non-governmental organizations that fight to protect human rights such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Global Rights. One you may not have heard of is Refugees International. According to their website (refugeesinternational.org), Refugees International focuses on bringing aid to displaced citizens and helps to bring attention to the problems that have caused the displacement. Refugees International was originally formed in 1979 for the purpose of assisting Indochinese refugee's. Now they assist refugees from all over the world by looking out for their best interest and ensuring their safety. They do this by having workers in the field observe the treatment and care of refugees who have been displaced for various reasons including war and conflict. They do not take any government funding, solely depending on donations (Refugees International, n.d.).

Any facility or organization needs to have a structure in order to function effectively. I found two nonprofit hospitals just an hour apart from each other. The first hospital is Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in southeastern Vermont with a mission to provide community-based quality health services delivered with compassion and respect (BMH, n.d., para. 1-2). I have not found an organizational chart in their website, however, BMH is governed by bylaws and a volunteer board of directors in which according to Yoder-Wise (2015) coincides with the definition for private non-profit organizations. In today’s world there are hundreds of thousands of non-profit organizations (NPOs) established at the local, regional, national and international level, and their influence is increasing. Non-profit organizations even considered the third sector of the economy (the first two is the public and private, or commercial). It is believed that they have a special role in development of civil society. In those countries, which have largely shaped the system of legislative regulation of the sector (USA, UK, Australia, etc); the state spends huge sums on research programs in the field of standardization of the NPO.

There used to be a time when zoos used to be full of animals. A time when extinction was not a problem. That was the past. Today, zoos all around the world are missing many animals such as the African elephant or the dodo bird. All of these wonderful animals became extinct because we were careless enough to let them all die. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an organization that is trying to prevent extinction from happening. Besides these international organizations there are many NGOs, Non-governmental organizations, which include: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Service for Human Rights look for and examine possible rights violations around the world. Combined these two forces, the IOs and NGOs, provide the world’s policing force against human rights violations and ensure that all of humanity is treated equally.

World Vision, founded in the USA in 1950 by a young pastor Robert Pierce, is one of the largest relief and development organizations in the world whose total revenue coming grants, product and foreign donations is about $2.6 billion.

One non governmental organization that deals with human rights issues is Amnesty International. I have chosen this organization because it is found in many countries of the world. There have been many problems throughout the world that included torture, illegal arrests and abuse of police and army powers. Many people were killed and some disappeared. Amnesty international was involved in campaigning against such human rights abuses.
