The complex challenge of designing a new sports car, or building a new bridge. Looking outside of the box to accomplish something most people cannot do. Using your hands to design something for the future will be a trait that we can never go without. The world would never be where it is today and will never evolve without the technical knowledge of an engineer. When I was a little kid I loved working with my hands. I was never the person to stay inside and play video games or watch a bunch of boring television shows. I always wanted to be outside getting my hands dirty. I was always outside with my step-dad helping him build something, or work on his corvette. I was always looking to design something new or make things stronger and faster.
During our first run Taylor and I noticed that the car was turning way to the left. So in order to fix this we started our car as far to the right of the track as possible. After our first trials we realized that we needed to fix our string. We needed to cut the string we had attached off of our car and make a new one. When we made a new one me made it a little bit longer than the car and only hot glued it to the hook, not to the frame. Our new string had a loop in the end of it so we could put that on the toothpick. So now we understood that the toothpick did have a real purpose and we couldn’t glue the string to the mousetrap. After we made these changes we ran our car three more times.
Thanks for researching the car for me. I did not think it would be much, but I was hoping it would be worth $3,000. My parents told Cora she could have the car and if they sold the farm for a good price they would have it restored enough to drive. The farm has not sold, and my parents and then my mother has given her enough money already the past two or three years. Not to air out my family problems but you are probably used to that by now. I am sure I have given you the information you could have done without knowing. My daughter fell in love with a lazy jerk about two years ago. She quit her job and moved in with him and his mother an hour and a half south of us to a small town that is in the middle of nowhere. The closest town has two colleges,
On May 2, 2003 it was my third birthday in a small town. For my birthday I got one specific gift that I loved the most. This gift was given from my Uncle Rusty who loved racing in general but liked NASCAR more than other motorsports. My Uncle had given me diecast cars with little toy cars that were all NASCAR cars. That day is when I grew interest for NASCAR and motorsports in general. I started to watch races with my dad and my uncle and I would create a mini version of the race with the little car I had. I started to watch more and more races until I began to watch every race the season. This is when I knew I wanted to be a racecar driver when I grow older. I was thirteen when I go my first go kart and began to race big national events. Coming
Tires squealing, smoke streaming across the ground, and motors revving against the silent night. Two incomparable cars lined up against each other along a desolate stretch of roadway. The scent of burning rubber singed the night air, while the glare of the headlights lit the path that would soon become a motor warzone. I was sitting at the wheel of my car with my head sticking out of the window, gazing at the stars, and cringing my face at the rotten stench of my opponent's car. My adversary shouted at me, asking if I am ready to start this race or if I was afraid of losing to him. A silent smirk spread across my face, and forcing back laughter at his comment, I raised my thumb up in the air. I got back in my seat, and buckled my seatbelt, because if I was going to risk my life, I might as well be safe about it. I revved up
One phrase I never understood while growing up was “your life is in your own hands”. To be fair, I never put much thought into this phrase, as I was used to being taken care of. I took for granted that I would wake up happy every day because I didn’t know any different. Life wasn’t always easy but I had a good attitude towards it.
Coming from a family that is mechanically inclined, I learned quickly how to work with my hands and problem solve. Seeing my brother work on his truck I was eager to learn more about how to work on vehicles. Just a few years ago in summer of 2014 I had the chance to go with my friend Tyler up to Slinger Speedway, where his dad races a super-late model. It was my first time in the pits of a race track. Being in the pits and working on a race car was a new thing to me. I shortly learned that I very much enjoyed racing and just being at the track. It gave me excitement knowing and seeing that your hard work payed off at the end of the night during the race. I would go on working on the crew for the rest of the season. Tyler started his racing
“You ready?” my grandpa asked anxiously as he looked at me. I started to get off and move around the golf cart to the driver's seat. I slid into the seat ever so gently, “As i'll ever be” I mumbled under my breath as I lay my hands gently onto the steering wheel. “I hope I don’t get yelled at or grounded badly if something happens” I told my grandpa with a worried face.
It was the big day, “the engineering competition” and we had to make our car go the farthest out from everyone else. “Snap” was all I could hear as I released the rat trap and the race had begun. My Car had the momentum and was the farthest out of everyone else and then all of sudden some other cart in another lane past it and I ended up coming second. During the award ceremony, all I could hear was cheers as I got up to get my second place award. I have always had a passion for fixing things since I was born.
I'll make this as brief as I can, but young folks, don't be me. More than 10 years ago, I came into a large sum from my late grandpa. I was depressed, sad, and mourning. I also never had money of my own, so getting 140k over a 2 year span at 18 was slightly mindblowing. I was cheap, thought nothing of it, and kept driving a beater car. It started slowly. A cool pair of sneakers? Well I do have money now, why not? A brand new iMac? I've got it, why not. The car started to go through problems, and a couple costly repairs later, I started dreaming about nice, brand new, sporty cars. Well, as one would expect, being in college on my own, this was my chance to shine. Mom was the custodian so it was pretty easy to just bug her a little to get access.
I long cherished the belief that the car culture before my time was much subtle, better looking, and fast. I come from a background of loving sports cars of any nationality, particularly classic and nineties Japanese sports cars. I see highly modified Japanese street cars everywhere I go. Over the years, I realized the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) community is piling up with ridiculous modifications like body kits that enables downforce on public roads. A good friend of mine from Scotland taught me a few things I never knew about the culture and when I take a look of photos of nineties era JDM, I can only find the cleanest and tastefully modified cars. Challenged by a fellow community member of defining "Proper JDM", I used beliefs from standards
A car is a important part ot most peopele it a way of transportaion but it also a way to learn something new how does a car work. I always wanted to lean about cars they are so cool to lea about. I know not everyone thnks about a car the ame way and bc it the first thing that popped up in my head. I wonder about all the technoly that invoded a car with it everything that make it run esay and good.
The father arrived at the office at 3:55P.M. and Hokulani arrived at 4:00 P.M. the father brought his son another racing toy car. While the father was assembling the toy car, Hokulani snacking on cheese and cracker. He told his father that it was his brother’s birthday that day. For less than ten minutes, the toy car was set up. The father handed Hokulani the remote control. However, Hokulani did not learn to control the racing car. As a result, the car moved slowly or stuck underneath of the table. The father took over the remote to control the movement of the toy car. Hokulani set up a barrier for the racing car by placing cardboard game boxes next to each other. After a while of trying to control the car, Hokulani could not make it run up
My grandma bought a new , speedy red car a sleek , shiny , glossy , red ferrari I heard her straight six engine from a far racing back from the ol' cribbage party of her new wheels, my mom got quite jealous Her slow nissan juke just can 't compare things between them have been just quite hellish They always look at each other with glaires screeching around corners, drifting through bends She drives like she's racing in a grand prix! She can 't seem to impress constable Zenz She collects tickets like bee's and honey I don't know where she mustered all the cash all I can do is just hope she doesn't crash
It is almost impossible, today, to look around you and not see the products of engineering, pretty much regardless of where one may be. In this way, advancements in engineering and its various branches have clearly allowed humanity to develop in immeasurable ways or this would not be the case (Frank C. Whitmore, 1979). However, those who do not have much knowledge of the background processes behind this infrastructure may not realise its impact as deeply or may not realise the impact of engineering at all - despite modern society’s fundamental dependence upon it (National Academy of Engineering, 2001).
Engineers are viewed as the backbone of modern society. The innovation and the creativity that drives our society forward are inspired by the teachings of engineering, whether it is transporting on a bus or making a phone call, the work of an engineer is experienced. Engineers satisfy both themselves and humanity which is the reason for my passion for engineering.
