Every four years the presidential election occurs, and candidates from the Democratic and the Republican parties participate in running for the presidency. This year is very important to the people of America. On November 8, 2016, the election will occur to decide who will be our nation’s president. The two leading candidates from each party are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders from the Democratic Party; along with Ben Carson and Donald Trump from the Republican Party. They are showing different viewpoints on eight issues that are the focus of this year’s election, and sharing their plans for when they, hopefully, win office. The first issue that the candidates are talking about is the abortion and Planned Parenthood issue. Hillary Clinton’s …show more content…
The law abiding citizens of America should have the right to own guns without restriction. Carson also states that semi-automatic weapons are okay in the country but should be banned in the cities, so citizens can protect themselves from surrounding threats.
Donald Trump said, “Gun-free zones are target practice for sickos”. He agrees with Carson that they should protect the Second Amendment, but they need to worry about mental health issues, and that they should not take guns from good people. Trump is strongly against gun control, because most people get their guns and ammunition from family. He strongly believes that it should be a national right to carry a gun.
My view on gun control is that Americans should be allowed to bear arms because of the Second Amendment. I think there should be background checks, but we do have to take into account that some people get their weapons from family and friends.
However the candidates disagree on the immigration policy. Hillary Clinton wants to protect families of immigrants by letting people make a case for themselves before they are deported. Along with that, she wants full citizenship granted to every immigrant and she wants them to be granted an education and a language, protect the national borders, and help people get affordable

I don’t think that we need to deport anyone unless they are a convicted criminal.
Clinton’s standing on tax reform is to provide it to families by increasing taxes on upper class families and putting it toward health care and college. She wants to continue the Affordable Care Act and improve the infrastructure for business. Bernie Sanders agrees that there should be an improvement in infrastructure. He believes that the wealthier should pay more, and that there should be a raise in income tax, based on a families ability to pay.
Ben Carson thinks that the tax system is too complex and it destroys the economic growth of America. Without some kind of change our economy will continue to suffer. Carson wants to reestablish the free market system and increase the amount of income being brought to the middle class. These changes will result in millions of new jobs and increasing
The 2016 Presidential Campaign candidate, Bernie Sanders, believes in creating a better America. In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. The political figures in government care about money and wealth, not the people. Bernard Sanders would be the best choice for President for the main reason that he is concerned about the issues in America that create inequality for the people. The issues addressed by this candidate will create social and economic equality.
Many people die from gun related incidents every year. Thus, whether guns should be controlled or not has been a converversonl topic for many years. People should be allowed to protect themselves by owning guns, however there should be a restrictions.
While Planned Parenthood offers cancer screening, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infection testing, contraception, and more, the safe and legal abortion service they provide is typically the highlight of conversation (Sexual Health Topics - Planned Parenthood). It is interesting to compare the Democratic candidates to the Republican candidates on this subject. Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Clinton wish to fight to continue Planned Parenthood’s government funding. In fact, Mr. Sanders hopes to find a way to expand the funding (Fighting For Women’s Rights). On the other hand, Mr. Trump, and Mr. Cruz wish to end the Planned Parenthood funding. Donald Trump has expressed some mixed thoughts regarding the funding and abortion. Mr. Trump believes that Planned Parenthood has done “very good work for millions of women," (Krieg). However, Mr. Trump has also said, “But Planned Parenthood should absolutely be defunded. I mean if you look at what’s going on with that, it’s terrible” (Donald Trump: “Planned Parenthood Should Absolutely Be De-Funded”). Quite frankly, I think Mr. Trump is confused. It is clear that he wishes to defund Planned Parenthood due to the abortion service provided even though he recognized the majority of work Planned Parenthood does for millions of women (Krieg). Jill Stein has not publicly commented on Planned Parenthood’s government funding; however, she did comment on the organization’s decision to endorse Mrs. Clinton (Sheer). Planned Parenthood has personally influenced my life. I work in the education branch of Planned Parenthood as a high school sexual health peer educator. In my opinion, the work Planned Parenthood does deserves and requires government funding which is why I would vote for the Democrat candidates when considering this
Donald Trump believes that we should extend the waiting period to buy a gun, also ban some assault rifles and limit restrictions on guns.”I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.”(8888). By doing this as he said he believes it will be the best result on gun control. He thinks that law abiding citizens should be allowed to carry guns as they please. The assault rifles he wants to ban because he thinks that no one but police and criminals should really have them. As for the 72-hour gun ownership is to ensure the person has a proper background check.
Senator Sanders plans to give each citizens access to universal healthcare so no citizen will be denied health and medicine. Throughout his political career he voted yes and no on bills going through Senate and he voted each time on bills that expanded healthcare or made it more affordable. He plans on taxing the rich at higher rates, same taxes from resolving the income inequality, and set forth a system of taxing through the stock system that will create billions over the course of a year (). These new taxes would benefit the middle and lower class because they would finally be able to receive healthcare that many of the poor have had to previously live without. New taxes sound like a bad thing, but in Bernie’s plans it would only affect corporations and the top 10%. These new taxes wouldn’t affect the average taxpayer in anyway resulting in more money out of your paychecks, but would affect them by giving them and every citizen free healthcare despite any poor financial
Clinton views sound much more helpful and more politically correct than Trumps. Although, keeping families together and bringing immigrant workers out of the shadows should not be a problem if they all weren’t breaking the law to begin with. The issues are much more troubling the more you look at the havoc they are causing to the United States citizens and the economy. Another aspect of illegal immigration is crime and the costed associated with it.
The right to bear arms is a right given to all Americans. We as the American people and the American government cannot infringe that right. However we can make the process of owning a weapon a much more difficult and time consuming process. We as a country should also instate a mental altitude test before the purchase of a firearm. The Government should also instate a surprise mental exam for all firearm owners at least four times per year maybe even more to ensure safety to people surrounding those owners. Americans are a country full of people with free speech and they are not afraid to use it. American people will not let you take away their firearms but if we make it harder to obtain one maybe we cut down on gun violence. We must enforce the process of background checks. The nation should also consider banning the access to own an assault rifle to everyone except for the use of government military only. Assault rifles are not necessary for self- protection and should not be legal under the concealed weapons permit.
Rearing near towards the 2016 presidential election, the most popular candidates are Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump. The most likely Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, has many radical views on certain issues. For the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton seems most likely to be the Democratic presidential nominee, but her views on issues don’t seem to be the best. There are many general similarities between Hillary Clinton’s and Bernie Sanders’s views. However, there are certain areas where Bernie’s ideas seem to be the most beneficial.
Income Inequality a topic Sanders has been working on during his decades-long career in politics. He has stated that he “advocates policies that get to the root cause of these inequalities… expanding the social safety net, creating more well-paying jobs, and reforming systems… super-rich
If someone would have told me seven years ago that I would be for the right to bear arms and oppose the idea of strict gun control, I would have said they were crazy. Most of my life I was not a pro-gun person and I believed that people should have to deal with only handguns for protection and the rest of the firearms should be saved for our military. While I do believe people should have to go through background checks to own a gun, because it is a big responsibility, I believe that everyone, within reason, should legally able to carry or have guns. With the violence in today’s society, it is a smarter move, I believe, to carry a handgun to stop those causing harm.
Clinton and Trump have two different views on one of the most important issues facing the U.S—gun control. To argue the issue of gun control, Trump presents the Second Amendment. Trump believes there should be no gun-free
Gun control is a big debate in the US right now, some people believe that guns are just too dangerous for the citizens of america, and some want the citizens of america to be allowed to be armed with firearms. Without any doubt US citizens should be allowed to be armed.
Bernie Sanders is an American Democrat socialist who is currently the junior United States Senator of Vermont. Before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006, he served as a congressman for sixteen years. He has shown to favor social democratic parties similar to those in Europe. He likes to voice on many issues such as corporate welfare, global warming, income inequality, parental leave, universal healthcare, racial injustice, and LGBT rights.
The definition of gun control is “the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms by civilians.” With the horrific events that have occurred lately in our country, I believe that the laws on gun control are not strict enough. There are only a handful of people who cannot possess a gun, leaving millions of other individuals with the ability to own a firearm. Almost anyone can buy a gun, but not just “anyone” should be allowed to have one.
She’s married to former President Bill Clinton. Hillary attended Wellesley College for four years and then attended Yale Law School for an additional four years. Hilary has many political strings in my opinion because her husband was the president, so in my eyes the election could in fact be rigged to an extent, however that is just my speculation. Mrs. Clinton is, as well as Mr. Trump, more than qualified to uphold the position of President of the United States. Hillary, as Trump does, has particular stands on certain topics. Her stand on gun control is that the government should keep guns away from terrorists, domestic abusers, and criminals by including comprehensive background checks on the persons’ buying the weapons along with finding and closing any loopholes that allow the gun to fall into the wrong hands. I agree with Hillary with her stand on gun control, because over the last few years crimes involving guns has been significantly increased due to the simplicity of availability of guns. Mrs. Clinton’s stand on immigration is much like Mr. Trump’s, besides the idea of constructing a wall, her stand is that there should be a more refined path to obtain full citizenship in the United States. As well as ending family detention and closing private immigration detention centers. I agree with Mrs. Clinton on this point because constructing a wall will only make immigrants want to beat the system and maneuverer over the wall, if Hilary could make citizenship more refined and equal, then more immigrants would be forced to do the easy way of actually becoming a United States citizen, instead of having to be an illegal immigrant. Mrs. Clinton’s stand on national security is by maintaining a military that is always update to date with all the new fighting techniques and weaponry that we could always be hands on with new equipment and ready to fight
