Every four years the presidential election occurs, and candidates from the Democratic and the Republican parties participate in running for the presidency. This year is very important to the people of America. On November 8, 2016, the election will occur to decide who will be our nation’s president. The two leading candidates from each party are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders from the Democratic Party; along with Ben Carson and Donald Trump from the Republican Party. They are showing different viewpoints on eight issues that are the focus of this year’s election, and sharing their plans for when they, hopefully, win office. The law abiding citizens of America should have the right to own guns without restriction. Carson also states that semi-automatic weapons are okay in the country but should be banned in the cities, so citizens can protect themselves from surrounding threats.
Donald Trump said, “Gun-free zones are target practice for sickos”. He agrees with Carson that they should protect the Second Amendment, but they need to worry about mental health issues, and that they should not take guns from good people. Trump is strongly against gun control, because most people get their guns and ammunition from family. He strongly believes that it should be a national right to carry a gun.
My view on gun control is that Americans should be allowed to bear arms because of the Second Amendment. I think there should be background checks, but we do have to take into account that some people get their weapons from family and friends.
However the candidates disagree on the immigration policy. Hillary Clinton wants to protect families of immigrants by letting people make a case for themselves before they are deported. Along with that, she wants full citizenship granted to every immigrant and she wants them to be granted an education and a language, protect the national borders, and help people get affordable …show more content…

I don’t think that we need to deport anyone unless they are a convicted criminal.
Clinton’s standing on tax reform is to provide it to families by increasing taxes on upper class families and putting it toward health care and college. She wants to continue the Affordable Care Act and improve the infrastructure for business. Bernie Sanders agrees that there should be an improvement in infrastructure. He believes that the wealthier should pay more, and that there should be a raise in income tax, based on a families ability to pay.
Ben Carson thinks that the tax system is too complex and it destroys the economic growth of America. Without some kind of change our economy will continue to suffer. Carson wants to reestablish the free market system and increase the amount of income being brought to the middle class. These changes will result in millions of new jobs and increasing
