Known for its deliberate deviation from the norm, alternative was both different and new yet also retained undertones of the classic oldie style. It is most commonly associated as a compilation of grunge, britpop, goth rock, and indie pop yet is completely set aside as its own independent genre. Alternative swept stages across the nation and gained fame seemingly through word of mouth rather propaganda or publicity. Also alternative music beckoned for power and an open ear but simply in a way that was contrary to other genres of the time such as punk, rap, and jazz which is how the public increasingly fell under the spell of

I think you made a great point! I too believe that your ideas of the continuous change of atmospheres and lack of moral values play a major role in the “gang world.” For example I know many people personally who do not have any moral values, does not care about anything, and has no goals in life, so they commit all if not most of their time and dedication to their gang. Also atmospheres are constantly changing and gangs are always migrating to new areas, which often leads to new recruitments. I also agree with you that “gangsta rap” music as well as the videos has made violence and the gang life seem socially acceptable to live the lifestyle they are living. This often leads to people wanting to be like the rappers or ultimately forming

Rap artist now and days don't really rap they just say dumb words and rhymes that nobody can understand. I chose these five people because they rap about the truth, whatever is on there minds, and how hard life is. Dr. Dre is on my team because he is one of the best beat producers in the world, also he was in the N.W.A. These individuals are already known for who they are and how they
The issue of trap music being better than lyrical rap music is important because trap music is all about artists explain their tough times in life, collecting fame, and adding meaning to their music. Lyrical rappers have nothing similar to “Trappers”, there music just doesn’t reach out to the community as much as Trap music does. Lyrical rappers are just “overrated” and just does not compare to the hardships and hard work these rappers went through as a kid and they just do not put forth the effort needed to be a excellent rapper in all category. This issue is debatable because while some believe that lyrical rap can be better than trap because of the lyrical geniuses involved, others believe that trap has
I don’t mind rap. There isn’t really any time of music I hate. There are some that I don’t love, but I like practically every type of music just a little bit. When you have variety it can make life a little more interesting and sometime easier. I have friends with all different music interest, and they taught me how to be diverse and understanding of other styles of music. I have some friends that like country, some rap, some rock, and some pop. Before reading this chapter I didn’t know a lot about rap or hip hop. I changed my mind about rap music. Growing up, I never really liked it, the quick beats, the vast usage of inappropriate words not equipped for my adolescent ears disgusted me. I associated rap music as being "dirty," only discussing explicit topics and having no real meaning. While everyone else in high school was blaring Drake and Lil Wayne in the parking lots, I was perfectly okay with listening to Demi Lovato or John Legend. During my sophomore year of high school, my friend kept pestering me to listen to the Hamilton soundtrack, and even though the songs were raps, I realized I loved it. Eventually, I started to not associate all rap music as detrimental and discovered that some rappers rapped about important messages of adversity, conflict, and pain. This lead me to listen to Chance the Rapper's "Coloring Book, " Childish Gambino's "Red Bone and J Cole's "4 Your Eyez Only." I realized that rap is just poetry with accompaniment, poetry that has the rhythm and style to bring generations of people together.
