During my research of Linux vendors, I have narrowed my options to three distinct vendors. I have found Red Hat, Novell, and Ubuntu were three of the best companies worldwide. Each vendor has their advantages and disadvantages. I will address the positive and negative points of each vendor. The main differences between the three vendors that I will discuss are cost, training & support, performance & reliability, and lastly availability.

We decided to look at another Operation System (OS) besides Windows 2003. The Linux OS is an open sourced system and can be adapted to work with-in a multi-platform environment. First we looked at the fact that company wide we would have UNIX, Microsoft, and Linux if we went in this direction.

The issue with University of Pittsburg Medical Center, is that the university equips different servers for every single original application, even though all of the university’s servers and many different software systems at the school may not only have unique software systems, but have contrasting versions of Microsoft Windows and Unix-Linux servers as well. The University of Pittsburg Medical Center even has to operate and manage the technology for the many separate vendors.

There are many operating systems that are common on the Internet today. Back when computers could only handle one command at a time, in the 1950 's, was very time consuming. Now, about sixty years later, a computer 's operating system can handle many applications at one time while delivering speed and is user friendly. Although there are many Operating Systems that are available, there are onle a few of them that are well knon and is commonly used. When developing a website, the business must have a strategy and a goal that they are working to accomplish. MMIS Bakery’s website must be user friendly while allowing customers to easily make and customize orders. Due to the complex design to involve customer input, MMIS Bakery will outsource the development of the website. Owners Maria and Jean will work with professionals to create a website that allows users to make customized orders based on size, style, type, decoration, flavor and special instructions. This website is important to create value for the company.

Tony’s Chips needs to strategically understand its vision, business requirements and organizational goals before building a Web architecture that includes functions such as serving as the back-up site and evaluating alternatives to the company self-hosting site. Tony’s Chips must employ qualified and knowledgeable information technology (IT) staff to manage its Web architecture. Desini and Griffin (2014) showed that knowledge workers could add value to their organizations due to their expertise experience and knowledge in particular fields. The IT staff must integrate their past and current experiences, skills, and knowledge in order to successfully plan, implement, and evaluate for the Web architecture. Employees who add values to their organizations can enhance the organization’s overall success and performance (Desini & Griffin, 2014). Tony’s Chips needs to consider hiring consultants who can provide its workers with training and development for the implementation of its project. Training and development are necessary for many purposes such as maintaining or gaining a competitive advantage over its competitors (Khan, 2009; Nelson, 2010). Tony’s Chips’s workers will develop ways to test the functional elements of the website for effectiveness and efficiency.

The shop has been in operation for five and a half years and its target market includes families and drinkers in the area surrounding the shop.
