Roman and Han empires
Han dynasty emerged into power back in 221BCE after the fall of Qin dynasty 206BCE. They were the original pioneers when it comes to political systems and structure of the society that lasted more than 2000 years in China. On the other hand, the Roman Empire controlled the western Mediterranean and they had various advancements in technology and science. The Romans had different engineering accomplishments considered to be different from those of the Han kingdom. They formed the basis of the establishment of the western legal codes. This research is aimed towards analysis the similarities and the differences between the Han dynasty and the Roman Empire. The consequences of their differences are also analyzed in this research.
Similarity of the roman and Han dynasty and accounting for the similarities
Rome and Han were similar in terms of military techniques and methods. The similarity was the way the two kingdoms had imperial administrations. Both Rome and Han established their territories through defending and fighting for their land. This can be proved from the way the Romans used various legions that had heavy infantry in the warfare. The Han dynasty had the same legions which they used in their warfare. Each legion had thousands of soldiers and they were sent to the battlefield in order to fight.
In terms of construction, the Romans and Han in China had similar constrictions in terms of roads, bridges and the development of water systems. This helped in strengthening their economies. The roman had road systems which expanded more than 400,000 km and they used them in order to carry out trading activities (Rosenstein). The roman had built aqueducts in their engineering systems which brought a constant flow of water to the various cities and towns. Similarly, Han in China built massively fortified roads for the sake of trading and walls for the sake of fortification. The Great Wall of China was a proof of the existence of the Han dynasty and their form of defense.
Comparing the Roman aqueducts and the Hans, the Hans usually built water canals which they used to direct water as they wanted. These similarities showed that their engineering skills were similar in many ways as
