4.1 Research methodology Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically. In it we study the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in studying his research problem along with the logic behind them. It is necessary for the researcher to know not only the research methods/techniques but also the methodology (Kothari, 2004).This chapter discusses the research methodologies and generate relationship among the objectives of this research and the strategies of the study. 4.2 Research Approaches There are approaches used fot inquiry. as per (Creswell, 2009) these are quantitative approach, qualitative approach, and mixed methods approach. Each of these approaches has their own strengths and weaknesses. The basic features of the three approaches are summarized below to select the methodology that best suits the research objective. The quantitative research approach is one in which the researcher primarily uses postpositive claims for developing knowledge. Post positivism assumes that causes determine outcomes (Creswell 2009). The approach involves the generation of data in quantitative or numerical form which can be subjected to rigorous quantitative analysis in a formal and rigid fashion (Kothari 2004, p.5). …show more content…
