In todays world, our technology has become more advance. First thing that comes to mind when thinking of technology is computers, internet, machines and phones (AAAS, 2014). The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines technology as, “the use of science in industry, engineering, etc., to invent useful things or to solve problems”. By 1942, Morse had built his first wire system for the use of the telegraph which was around a mile long. This turned out to be the first device to ever send electrical communication (NFC, n.d). This resulted in using telegraphs and making radio calls to communicate with AT&T that came out with the first radio-car-phone. But during 1949, Federal Communication Commission (FCCS) was able to create a separate radio channels to which other carriers which over the years had developed its own megahertz (MHz) frequency which allowed us to make mobile phone calls (Keith, 2004). Forty-One years ago on April 3, 1973 the first mobile phone call was made (Seward, 2013). Development of mobile technology was the start of the biggest trend known to modern day people. Into the twentieth century, phones became smarter. The smart phone is a multifunctional device that not only communicates, but helps to learn, earn, and have fun. They have the ability to features such as mobile Web, email, Bluetooth communication, touch screen access, camera, Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation, MP3 player and radio just in the palm of your hand. Cell phones are used to provide a sense of safety, to coordinate activities, and to provide accessibility and it studies how this device disrupts the public sphere (Ling, 2004). With everything around us becoming bigger and better we need to be able to keep in touch with the people around us and not around us. Technology is constantly

Within the essays, “Our Cell Phones, Our Selves,” by Christine Rosen and “Disconnected Urbaism” by Paul Golderger, both authors expressed concern about the usages and the path our society is heading down. It is remarkable that within 30 years the cell phone went from a large mobile phone called the brick to what it is today. If we are not careful with the cell phone and our dependence on it, our social communication skills will be permanently damaged. Cell phones have inhibited the way we interact with each other and the way we communicate.
Ever since cellular phones first came to be in the 1980’s, people have been using them to carry out conversations, ask questions, or meet new people. Once cell phones reached a height of internet capabilities, smartphones were created. Cell phones from then on ended up changing society entirely. This research study could explain the effects of cell phones from their creation to today’s society and how they would influence the future generations. This study would also focus on the evolution of how cell phones become even more involved in our lives and how they truly influence us. This study would be beneficial to our generation by teaching them how technology is expanding, and the lives of humans will get easier as time goes on. Furthermore, this study would be beneficial as a report on how cell phones came to be in our history. This would expectedly heighten the awareness of society to how different our lives could be according to technological development. To the future researchers, this study could be used as a base for data in future development into how society adapts.
In the world today, cell phones are being used more than ever before. Everywhere you go, cell phones are present, and its users range from almost all ages. There is no avoiding the fact that cell phones are a prominent way of communication. They have become so influential in peoples’ everyday lives that many can not imagine life without a cell phone. Cell phones are not necessarily a bad tool, when used in moderation. Cell phones are changing the way people communicate and the way they live their everyday lives.
Cell phones and technology are wonderful tools for us to communicate and to grow as society but even though there are many benefits of using cell phones in the various social environments, there is also the greater disadvantage of the usage of the devices. The effects of being rude to one another, “light” unimportant conversations, and weak relationships between peers or family members. In today's world people are way too connected electronically and disconnected emotionally. As there is a lot of controversy to if cell phones are running society's social lives or not, research has shown that they are in fact hurting and affecting how people are interacting and communicating with one another. Between the lack of empathy and the lack of face to face conversations, cellular devices “smart phones” are the major reasons society is seeing a negative effect in people’s social life

Technological advances during the last fifty years of human history have given billions of people instant access to unprecedented communication methods. Individuals are no longer limited to letter writing and sending telegrams to convey a verbal message. E-mails, text messaging, video chat, instant messenger, and various social media outlets are all platforms for human communication in the modern world. One of the most significant communication devices to surface from the technological serge is the cellular telephone. Every individual with a cell phone has the ability to call any person, place, or agency at anytime as long as the individual is within the service provider's coverage area. The prevalence of cell phone owners has increased the use of cell phones in public places, such as schools, restaurants, and theaters, and their use in public is associated with both positive and negative implications. Some argue cell phones should be banned from public places because they are a social distraction, inhibit the user from being able to focus properly, and can cause safety concerns by interfering with airplanes and hospital equipment. Despite the negative impacts associated with cell phone use in public places, cell phones must be allowed in public for safety reasons, emergency scenarios, and to support the individual's right to personal freedom.
Over the last four decades, mobile devices have become the trademark of our society.cell phones and other mobile devices have inundated our society At any given time; we can see drivers talking or texting in a moving vehicle. In her essay entitled “Against the Cell,” Lauren Winner argues that in today's society we are constantly on our phones spending less time actually interacting with one another. Winner introduces her topic by describing when she walked across campus and counted how many people were on their phones. As she counted
“In homes, in social settings, and at workplaces, where people once interacted with each other and engaged in actual conversation, silence has now taken over as everyone’s attention is dominated by their email, their text messages, and their social media.” Nowadays, many cannot imagine life without a cellphone. Yet, as much has cellphones have plenty of pros, they also come with a whole lot of cons. In what ways are cellphones changing the way we live today?
In today’s society, people view the world through the very handheld electronic devices in their pockets, rather than going outside and experiencing life for themselves. They use their phones to communicate, share their everyday experiences, connect with their family, friends and loved ones. whether it may be from the other side of the world, or just the room. Cell phones have revolutionized the way humans communicate and socialize, ever since the first cell phone to hit the market in 1973 by John F. Mitchell. As much as cell phones are helpful and convenient, they have changed the world dramatically. This seem like an extreme claim to make, but evidence shows that cell phones have made the world a little more difficult. They have caused many problems such as fatal car accidents due to distracted drivers on the road, as well as sexting and revenge porn, which leads to a form of cyberbullying. Even cell phones themselves are harming their overall health, their social interaction, and even teen literacy. People may not have a solution to these problems but they need to find
Cell phones have changed our society by allowing constant communication. Prior to the use of cell phones, individuals could only reach families, jobs, and businesses while using a landline phone, often times in their own home. With the use of cell phones, people are able to reach each other at anytime throughout the day, and in a multitude of areas across the countries. Cell phones and their new technology have allowed for individuals to reach other in different countries, and also allow check-in following national disasters
Technology has advanced over the years, causing our lifestyle to change drastically and head down a new path. With these advances in technology, the cell phone appeared and has evolved throughout time. The cell phone has become a necessity to many. All ages use this mobile device for either personal or business use. Higgins states that the amount of cell phones active has increased from “one billion in 2000 to 6 billion.” Although cell phones play an important role in the lives of many, the negative possibilities could cause destruction to our society.
