Explain the content of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and discuss its role in project management and the connection to the organisation.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool that is used to define the work elements of a project and identify its entire scope. It is the map of the project which identifies all elements of the project and allows managers to keep track and control of it. It is made of a hierarchy which facilitates the evaluation of cost, time and performance at all levels of the project life-cycle and organization. The structure illustrates the smaller units and allows for adaptation and quick communication if there a problems which need to be addressed. Definitions of each task should be clear and avoid overlapping in

The project scope has been explained in regards to the WBS, it has been explained in order to elaborate the project scope, herby going onto the project priorities.
The project priorities are in regards what should be prioritised in the project. What is to be taking in regards in terms of cost is (budget), time (schedule), and performance (scope) of the project. What is important to emphasise on here is how these three correlate with one another. In a case where time is important it would be necessary to perform faster, which will prevent a quality outcome, hence lead to reduced costs. The importance of a project manager is to control the trade-offs between budgets and scope. The project managers functions as a link between upper management and project customers. The project manager needs to have keen understanding of project scope in order to fulfil the requirements for the customers and how prioritize the demands. The customer can also add requirements and then the manager needs to prioritize the requirements in regards to the project. An important method is to use the priority matrix to identify what is worth prioritizing more. The constrain is stick and have to be obliged to the first agreements made between the customer, this includes, the specifications and scope of the project or the budget. The enhance includes time and costs. The enhance is an essential factor seeing where to emphasize on either on reducing costs or
Decomposition is another tool that will be used to break the requirements documentation down into identifiable work portions, or a work breakdown structure (WBS). GenRays resources will be assigned to the project team based on their work experience and general project team experience to effectively perform the necessary work in the WBS.

* After reviewing the case study and historical data that was present in the form of interview, email and newsletter; the project took another whole new life. The decision making was based largely upon the available information and initial outcomes were largely contributed to the resources mentioned earlier. The path document was found from the data and resources available in the case study. The WBS was indeed a challenge given the schedules and estimates for this project. The management of human resources especially because our project needed scheduling depending upon the developers’ availability was also another challenge. To best manage the list of individuals it was a given that the software provided was
Cost and Value management is becoming a large part of companies competing in today’s market. According to the text, “projects and their effective management can provide organizations with a significant competitive edge through cost reduction, enhanced responsiveness, and overall value to customers.” (Venkataraman & Pinto, 2008, p. 1). In this paper we are going to focus on some of the techniques and how they can either help or hinder a project. Through information and examples we will explore the importance of work packages and the work breakdown structure (WBS), establishing a cost and schedule performance
Step 5. We drafted the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), this classified the tasks and activities needed for the doing project work.
The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) helps develop all the work structure and responsibility structures of a project. There were different issues and inputs during the first meeting between the members. They were considering hiring some qualified referees in the playground to minimize the uneven decisions. They were also discussing about contacting local colleges to find an appropriate field and the entry fees of the players. There was confusion about rewards of the players, they have decided to contact with local corporate sponsors and collect fund. They have decided hiring an artist who will design the unique T-Shirts & Sweatshirts for the players. The WBS will be helpful for Nicolette about how to responsibly distribute, cost estimation, scheduling and resource allocation on the project. This information may also be used in future tournaments. Overall, the WBS will provide a detailed picture on the project and will help create a structure for the activities that needs to be planned and managed.
After collecting and acquiring the data for the service request for Riordan Manufacturing, I have concluded that the integration of the present system will be valuable to the corporation’s human resource department. The idea for this development will be constructed in regards to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). A work breakdown structure (WBS), in project managing and systems engineering, is a deliverable accommodated breakdown of a development into diminutive modules. A work breakdown structure component may be a creation, information, advantage, or any mixture thereof. A WBS furthermore delivers the essential outline for thorough cost approximating and influence along with offering direction for agenda expansion and control.

QUESTION 14 A project manager has just completed the work breakdown structure (WBS) with the project team. Which of the following would be used during activity sequencing? A. B. C. D. Precedence diagramming method Monte Carlo analysis Resource availability Resource leveling technique
The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) breaks a project into manageable items. The WBS identifies all work elements needed to complete the project work scope. The WBS is a hierarchical tree where project is subdivided into smaller pieces called work items. The lowest level item of
A successful project management will include time control and cost planning. Accompany with these two important features, and then bring out the best quality project.
A work breakdown schedule has a number of advantages in the current project. It allows the team to create detailed steps of all the processes required in the project. This enables the team to determine whether it has
A work breakdown structure (WBS) will develop for this project and the WBS is based on the project charter, scope statement, and other relevant information. Gantt chart and network diagram also will be well prepared for this project. While preceding the planning stage, the resource usage cash flow report will showing the hours each person is assigned to work on each task each week. Furthermore, the probability/ impact matrix and list of prioritized risks for the project will be included in the project
The WBS or work breakdown structure is a method or tool used by a project manager to not only help estimate the cost of a project but to also build a CPA (critical path analysis) to measure a time phased budget.
A key activity in project management is assessing project constraints. A project has three limitations: scope, budget and schedule. These limitations are project constraints because they are sensitive to change and have an impact on project risk. Risk is exposure to uncertain outcomes. Project constraints are mutually exclusive. If one constraint changes it affects the others and adjustments may be required to compensate and manage risks. For example, a delay in the schedule can increase the risk that the project will not finish on time. Time is money and delays have a negative impact on the budget. To
