After analyzing the data, I found Chick-Fil-A was the one with the most picks and Burger King had the least amount of picks. Once I received my brisket and sausage sandwich was presented very simple, but elegant. The food was spaced out, so I was able to eat without feeling condensed into a tiny section. On the other hand, Burger King’s beef are 100% pure and they flame-boils their burgers, while McDonald’s fries their beef. That’s why they taste different. Concern at cost, McDonald’s simple burger is lower at $0.89 while Burger King’s has their simple burger at $0.99.

In my opinion, the drastic difference in profitability margin is primarily due to the vastly different business models adopted by the two companies. Whereas In-N-Out focuses on higher margin on limited volume, McDonalds is totally focused on volumes. In-N-Out tends to have lower costs as there are minimal expenses spent on advertising and development of new menu, whereas McDonalds spends heavily on these aspects. Also, In-N-Out has created a loyal fan base which is willing to pay extra for the high quality burgers, thereby increasing In-N-Out’s profit margin. On the other hand, McDonalds finds itself right in the middle of highly competitive and price sensitive fast food industry, and with no major loyal fan base, it has to operate on minimal margins to achieve high volumes.

Ok now you guys are probably thinking which one you think is better. I mean, they are both pretty tasty besides the fact that Wendy's food is dry. I am going to tell you why McDonald’s is better than Wendy's, and there is multiple reasons why, now let me tell you a couple. One reason is McDonald's food tastes better and it's not that much more calories. For example A McDonald's Quarter-Pound burger is 410 calories but a Wendy's Quarter-Pound burger is 590 calories.
