Christian Worldview: Christianity vs. Naturalism
Introduction
A worldview is not determined simply by a single factor, value, belief or view. It can be described as a collection of beliefs a person has about his or her life and the world around. This worldview can include aspects such as a consistent decision making process, an idea of what is right or wrong, and also who or what authority do I respect and follow. This view can modified constantly by factors including experiences that a person might face, a changing environment, and different values. There are many different types of worldviews and perspectives people have about the world that help to shape who

Some small examples include belief against abortion and I also believe that sex before marriage is immoral. I strongly believe in the seven sacraments and I believe that we should always pray for the dead. As a Christian I believe in confession and I strongly believe in the afterlife. As a Christian I have learned to always forgive and forget anyone that has sinned against our God.
Along with many other Christians, I live in the world that He created and I am patiently waiting for His second coming. It took me a while to know where I was going with my life and I knew the only way that I could get any answer is through prayer and having faith in my God. As I stand here today I know He has a plan for me and I know that with Him by my side there can be nobody against me as stated in Romans 8:31. Also as a Christian we all have went against God’s commandments and we have allowed sin into our lives. Even though we do wrong and sin on a daily basis, we have learned as Christian’s that we need to fix the problem by be obedient to God’s calling and repent so that we can be saved through this compassion and grace.
Every person on this earth has a great purpose they are going to fulfill throughout their life. I believe my purpose here is to serve God for what he is calling me for. It took a while to know that he was calling to me to become a nurse, and every day that goes by
A world view consists of our basic beliefs; how we view life in general and the assumptions that we make about reality. In its simplest form, a worldview acts as a pair of glasses. For instance, when we wear sunglasses, everything that was initially bright colored immediately loses its brightness. This means that the glasses make us see a shade darker, changing our outlook on things. That is precisely how a worldview operates. It influences how we view and interpret reality and because different people have different worldviews, how one person views and interprets reality might not be the same as another person (Nickel, 2008). This
There are many different ways to completely define the term “Worldview”. To actually have a worldview it means that you have built a particular opinion of life. The opinions that have been created will help in the development of ideas or decisions as well as how the world around you is perceived. No two people will have the same worldview, most people live their lives. (Open Bible, 2015)
What is a worldview? On the word of Dr. Lew Weider & Dr. Ben Gutierrez (2013), "A worldview is the reflection of ones' heart; or internal existence, ones' mentality, feelings, and desires. The complete process that brings forth one's beliefs."
Every human being has a worldview whether they are aware of it or not. Although the notion of a worldview might appear basic in nature, the word itself simply meaning how one views the world around them, worldviews are much more complex and far reaching. A worldviews development occurs over the course of a lifetime, shaped by the complex and unique experiences of an individual and the sum of family traditions, religious beliefs and cultural histories. It is an all-encompassing interpretation of reality that plays a central and defining role in our attitudes and concepts about life. While worldviews are formed based on the answers to fundamental questions about human existence, they simultaneously shape
My worldview I’m a Christianity. According to James N Anderson 2014 What’s your worldview? “Christianity is the largest religion in the world today, Claiming around one-third of the world population. Christians consider to be not merely a great prophet and spiritual teacher, but the divine Son of God and the savior of the world. I’m a Christian I believe in God. Being a Christian it has cause me to read the Bible more as I have grown older. I have find myself debating, learning and trying to understand the Christian faith. Being a Christian you learn different ways on interpreting the Bible. My worldview is Biblical I believe the Bible is entirely true. I believe it a foundation of everything we say or do. I believe in God I believe if I do my best by God and go to church God will bless me. In Number 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and peace.” I have taken been a Christian more serious when I got older. I have always been exposed to the Christian living since I was younger. When I was in school the teacher was
A “worldview” is looked at in many different ways. Logical the way one thinks about life, faith, death, work, values, and morals. As well as “how we see the big picture.” Say for instances you have to make a decision in ones everyday life, and have to deal with actions of the choices one has chose. According to Sire “a worldview is a commitment.” For example your commitment to how one believes. Everyone interprets what they see different and some may have the same views. Depending on how one is brought up in their household. A person philosophy of life,
A “worldview is a set of beliefs or truth claims that form a framework for making sense out of life and the world” (MacCullough, Ed.D., 2012, p. 15). Basically, it is how we view the world. We all have our own perception in the way we view the world. Our worldview is what we believe the answers are in our everyday life and what we believe are the answers to everything we do or are involved in. This includes everything from our values, beliefs, and our actions. It also includes how we view
“What is a worldview? A worldview comprises one 's collection of presuppositions, convictions and values from which a person tries to understand and make sense out of the world and life. A worldview is a conceptual scheme by which we consciously or unconsciously place or fit everything we believe and by which we interpret and judge reality. A worldview is, first of all, an explanation and interpretation of the world and second, an application of this view to life.” (Dr. John MacArthur, May 2006).
An individual’s worldviews affect how they go about finding the truth. It can make us see things in a way that is not right but also can help us see a solution to a problem. Our worldview can be based off of our moral, values, and beliefs. Individual worldview may even change over time. Whatever our worldviews are that is what we see as the truth (Entwistle, 2010).
What is a world view? A worldview is an individual’s view on life. It is the philosophy with which we live. It makes us who we are and is shaped by our experiences, culture, and background (Smith, 2015). A worldview is fluid, it changes as we change and discover our identities. It is made up of the questions that humans may ask to determine their wealth to the world or their purpose in life. Our worldview can make us gravitate toward other individuals with similar beliefs. It is a unifying factor in our day to day interactions with people and the world as a whole. It is the way that we determine what is “considered meaningful, what is worth doing, and which causes may require sacrifice”
Today’s society consists of many worldviews. Most people tend to pull beliefs from different religions, but often stick to one main worldview. A worldview to me is the gathering of beliefs that shape what we do on a daily basis and forms our overall view on life. When I look at my beliefs critically, I am able to see my worldview and see how it compares to different worldviews, but also how it compares mainly to the Christian Worldview.
“The meaning of the term worldview seems self-evident: an intellectual perspective on the world or universe. Indeed, the 1989 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary defines world-view as a "... contemplation of the world, [a] view of life ..." (Funk, 2001). The word contemplation can also mean inspection or observation. Many things go into a person’s worldview and everyone’s worldview will be slightly different. An individual worldview is comprised of the total of that individual (e.g. their history, religion, priorities, etc.).
The perspectives we accept, the lens of what we observe through, the framework of ideas and attitudes, and our complicated system of beliefs, all have an impact on what we view as a worldview. Worldview is how we examine and interpret the world, reality, and many other things. It determines our values, beliefs, religion, and a multitude of other elements. Based on countless different variables, for example, the media(trends, quotes), the government(politics), parents, etcetera. Moreover, variables like the geography of the land and where you live can affect your worldview, for example, living in a first world country can be different from a living in a third world country as a result of the different lifestyles between the two. Furthermore, it impacts what we learn and how we learn, determining core values, what we believe is right and/or wrong and determine what is good or evil. However, based on worldview, there is no good/evil or right/wrong, it will be based on how you view the world.
In my personal opinion, a worldview consists of the sum total of an individual’s perspectives on the relationships between the sphere of their own personal experiences and the sphere of the variables of the world which lie outside their own control. A worldview could be defined as an ideology or religion in a narrow sense, but it encompasses more aspects of a person’s relationships to the outside world than a simple ideological path.
I would like to share with you what I, at this point in my life, believe what being a Christian is all about. These beliefs may develop over time as I become closer with christ but at this time, this is what I think being a Christian is all about. I believe God the father created the earth and everything on it for us to live. God the son, Jesus Christ, was sent to earth and made the ultimate sacrifice to forgive us of all sins. And finally, God the Holy Spirit, will always be with us whether we feel him or not. He is here to watch over his children. To me personally, it is important that Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive us for our sins, not so that it is ok to sin, but to forgive us when we do. In confirmation class we talk about grace
