Lewis structure of an atom helps to examine its valence electrons and the type of bond it creates with the other atoms. It states that an atom creates either an ionic bond or a covalent bond depending on the property and the number of valence electron present in that respective atom.
The VSEPR works with the Lewis structure for analyzing the shapes of the molecules. For complex molecules, the VSEPR uses the concept of hybrid atomic orbitals.
