Explanation Motor control can be defined as the systematic control of movement in organisms which contain a nervous system. The primary motor cortex (M1) is the main area of the brain that is involved in the motor function. M1 is present in the frontal lobe of the brain. There are 12 cranial nerves. These have sensory, motor and mixed nerves. There are three sensory cranial nerves olfactory (I), Optic(II) and Vestibulocochlear (VIII). The purely sensory cranial nerves are given as follows: 1. Olfactory nerve (I): It is a nerve that helps in the sense of smell. It has several separate fascicles which pass independently across the cribriform plate present in the roof of the nasal cavity.
