Chapter 16, Problem 75TQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The effect of excess consumption of fructose on hepatic lipid
Introduction:
The liver is involved in the synthesis of fatty acid and circulation of lipids through lipoprotein synthesis. Fats are present in the food consumed. Lipid metabolism initiates with hydrolysis. After hydrolysis, fatty acids are absorbed into epithelial cells, which are then broken down by lipoprotein lipase to produce triglycerides. Triglycerides are then broken down into fatty acids and glycerol.
