  1. Substitute the values of L and L 2
  2. in equation (2.61) and obtain the following quadratic equation for L 2 .
  3. Solve the quadratic equation for L 2
  4. obtained in part (a) by completing the square and the quadratic formula. Also compute he corresponding values of L 1
