To Explain:The observable difference in the pattern formed by iron fillings when current direction is reversed.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
A magnet is a material in which domains are aligned in one direction and so, it is able to attract other magnetic materials. Magnetic field around a magnet is a region where magnet has an influence. The field lines are imaginary lines which represent the force field around the magnet.Magnetic field lines arise from north pole and enter into south pole.
The iron fillings align along the field lines. The fillings are crowded near the poles of the magnet. When the current is reversed, the poles of the magnetic field generated by electro-magnet reverse, but there is no difference in the pattern shown by the iron fillings.
