Chapter 32.11, Problem 1SB
Summary Introduction

To review:

The traits of primates that enable them to become arboreal.

Introduction:

This lineage includes humans, apes, monkeys, and gorillas. Arboreal are those animals that live on trees. Primates appeared early in forested habitats of North America, Asia, Europe, and North Africa. Most primates rely on their sense of vision rather than their sense of smell. They have diurnal vision (active during daylight hours). Their brains are highly developed and have enormous capacity to learn and thus may adapt better at new places. Primates are social creatures and they locomote easily as they are either bipedal or quadrupedal.
