60 mph is the speed of the slower car, 70 mph is the speed of the faster car and travels 210 miles.

Explanation of Solution

3( x + 10 ) = 3.5x

3x + 30 = 3.5x

30 = 0.5x

x = 60mph is the speed of the slower car.

Then 60 + 10 = 70 mph is the speed of the faster car.

Therefore, distance = 3 * 70 = 210 miles .
