The current payroll processes were not accurate or effective so I made the decision to move to emailed payslips instead of printed payslips. This cut down payslip processing by 6 hours saving the company money on stationery, postage and printing. This has proved to be very effective and has cut down on errors and the need to produce duplicate payslips. Employees now receive their payslips 3 days prior to receiving their wages instead of on the day they received payment. To achieve this I have to be responsible and take accountability to deliver the results by presenting a clear project plan, obtaining the ‘buy in’ of the stakeholders and delivering the project on time. These are the abilities I feel you need to possess to be Driven to Deliver. * Collaborative * I feel this is the ability to be able to work effectively with a range of customers, internally and externally, also stakeholders and colleagues * Personally Credible * Credibility of a person I believe is built on previous experiences and how you performed within those experiences. To build a reputation of reliability and be trustworthy
Employee Engagement - This is the communication between an employee and staff on all levels. There are 3 dimensions of employee engagement - Intellectual, Affective and Social. If these dimensions are positive, encouraging and work related, staff will feel valued and make greater contributions towards the organisation.
The important of continually improving knowledge and practice is that you can ensure that you are aware of any new relevant legislation and also you can improve the service that you provide. It also gives you the opportunity to reflect on what you are good at as well as what you are not so good at, so that you can see what areas you can improve in.
The formula of Credibility is Competence, Caring, and Character. Credibility is your reputation for being trustworthy- trustworthy to perform your work with excellent; care about those you work with and for; to live by high ethical, corporate, and personal values; and to deliver on your promises. In short, your credibility is the degree to which others believe or trust in you (Cardon, 2013). The key aspect of Competence is and individual that seems to have all the necessary skills to accomplish a job. Competence “refers to the knowledge and skills needed to accomplish business tasks, approach business problems, and get a job done”. “Most people will judge your competence based on your track record of success and achievements” (Cardon, 2013).
Credibility is an important characteristic to have. How credible you are means how trustworthy and reliable you are. I think my athletic trainer is credible. He is good at what he does and always knows how to help anyone who is injured so I trust he knows what he is doing. If he never knew what to do and could not help you he would not be a very credible athletic trainer. This shows that your actions can affect your credibility. I think Michael Phelps is a credible person when it comes to swimming. He was very successful though his credibility took a hit when he was pictured holding a marijuana pipe (Crouse).
It is important to continue your professional development throughout your career or chosen profession, as this will help your knowledge to grow and expand. There are many ways in which you can constantly keep improving on this. You
Continual Self-Development is the approach where an individual takes prime responsibility and ownership for their own learning and development. This approach requires motivation and commitment in order to exploit learning opportunities and minimise the impact of weakness. A continuing self-development should be undertaken in partnership with the organisation and self-development should enhance the role held within the organisation. There are many benefits to be derived from continual self-development: improve performance and self-confidence; identify and develop specific skills and qualities; increase learning capacity; help achieve potential.

As a trainer, teacher and assessor my roles are many and varied. As part of my day to day work I may not only deliver lessons but also carry out theory assessments, practical assessments and sometimes interviews. I may have to motivate and liaise as well as guide and assess. I will have to keep records and be a subject specialist as well as liaise internally and impart information and advice sometimes on a personal level. The first impact I play regarding my role is either interviewing possible candidates or meeting and greeting them on the first day of their course. I feel it is important for me to continually improve my knowledge to ensure that I am aware of, and follow all the current health & social care standards, legislation, and guidelines for good practice as well as ensuring I follow my company’s policies & procedures.
On September 1, the Senate Bill 4 (SB4), signed by Governor Abbott, went into full effect. This Senate Bill, to sum things up, the ban of sanctuary cities in Texas. A sanctuary city can vary its definition from place to place, but generally, it is a city that limit their cooperation with immigration enforcement. However, with the SB4, now it lets a police officer ask about a person’s immigration status while they/re being detained instead of when they’re arrested. Many arguments have occurred during the past months about these sanctuary cities and whether it is right to keep, or to ban. I believe that Governor Abbott had every right to sign that bill. The SB4 bill was very necessary.
As a professional, I have a responsibility to engage in continuous professional development. This means taking action to keep my skills and knowledge up to date and seeking to improve your capabilities across the range of tasks I carry out daily.

When revising my final project, I took the workshop comments and suggestions in deep consideration. I felt my third story this semester, was my strongest story yet. When I was writing it, I tried to convey the story with my narrator’s tone and clearly define what the problems and tensions were. I made a conscious effort to apply everything I had learned in this past semester. My stories and writings I think have potential but always seem to lack in tone and meaning.
When I think of the creditability of a person I think, it is someone who is knowledgeable about the topic and is someone who lives that life. Credibility is the quality of being trusted and believed in. Have you ever been asked or thought back to information you received on a topic? One of the things you need to think about is, is this a creditable source.
