1 Summary: After listing the name of the book and author, summarize the book concisely in 500 “tight” words (no more than 2 pages). Prove that you comprehend the reading by writing a no-nonsense summary. The summary is not a commentary or listing of topics, but rather a heartfelt, condensed, insightful synopsis of the longer, more elaborate book. Cite the book in text at least once per paragraph, and include page numbers for direct quotations.

During this week’s assignment, Peterson (2015) tackles critical components of listening skills. The listening component that I find myself needing to work on is that of not defending what I perceive as attacks against my character during my interactions both with co-workers and family. Naturally, if I am devoting my thoughts to responding or defending my actions, how can I be effectively listening? In addition, when counteracting a statement with a defensive posture or verbal cues, it insights the other individual to feel attacked, resulting in a vicious cycle of both parties being defensive and no one listening or understanding one another (Peterson, 2015).

I am confident that my creativity, communication, and organization skills will benefit Towson’s residential community. Being creative breaks monotony and can make things interesting for everyone involved. Communications skills are important to have for this position since I will be working with residents and other RAs on a daily basis. Having transferred from two other schools, I have met many people and experienced many different things, which I believe makes me more relatable than just your average person. Being organized and detail-oriented makes working with me simple and reduces stress for everyone. Due to my positive and empathetic personality, I am an easy person to talk to and get along with.

Today, many states and schools systems are adopting a standards based education system. In fact, according to Common Core Standards Initiative (2014), forty-three states, the District of Columbia, four territories, and the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) have adopted the Common Core State Standards. The premise is that if all critical subject areas follow a standard from state to state, that all students will receive the same and fair education. The Vermont State Board of Education saw a need and a value in implementing such a system. As such, the Board created a strategic plan to implement a framework of standards that would eventually adopt the common core standards. This paper will discuss the strategic plan created by the Vermont Board of Education and evaluate whether or not the goals of the plan were met through the Framework of Standards.

I have examined task, tools and technology, knowledge, skills, ability, work activities and work context, interested code, work style and work values for job : 35-2014.00 –Cook and Restaurant, 21-1012.00 –Educational Guidance, School and Vocational Counselors; 27-2022.00-Coaches and Scouts. After reviewing the O.Net results, I will report my talents and lack of desire to do those occupations now, and aspiration to accomplish these positions.

1. In the first half of the Eagles game are team was playing out of the back a lot but there could have been times where we played the ball in the middle and split the other teams. There was a play in the video were Less had the ball and Jenna opened up and received the ball from Less and Jenna gave a good ball to me but, I looked around my shoulder and saw pressure coming so I quickly gave the ball back to Jenna. When I gave the ball back to Jenna I should have opened up and tried to receive it back from her so that I could try to change the point of attack.

In a time of educational reform, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) was heralded as being the new path to academically successful students who would thrive in the 21st Century. The CCSS were drafted by experts and teachers in the industry with the goal of preparing students for today’s students entering the workforce, college, or training program. In addition, the CCSS focused on clear, consistent guidelines and standards that would foster critical thinking and problem solving skills for students to be successful (Common Core State Standards, n.d.). However, the CCSS have had many critics since its debut in 2010, but it has also attracted followers as well. One such proponent, Vartan Gregorian, President of Carnegie Corporation of New York hailed the CCSS as “a necessary step in the process of reform” and “create a competitive edge in the 21st century world that requires innovative educational strategies that will enable students to succeed in a global economy.” (Common Core State Standards, n.d.). The staff at Willows High School is in a transition from the old state wide assessments to the new Common Core State Standards. The collaboration time has been focused on curriculum review and instruction to ensure their students will be prepared for common core assessments. Collaboration time is also used to focus on critical reflection and goal setting. They are making critical decisions on what to “let go” and what instructional strategies are no longer effective in ensuring students will meet the proficiency standards.

Rationale: this activity will help students practice spelling, vocabulary, grammar and text formation which differ quite a lot from speaking.

Third but not least, the conclusion provides an almost mirror image of the introduction, wrapping up the arguments with a restatement of the thesis of your essay. I call this the bottom burger bun or in other words the conclusion. Holding it all together is the bottom bun of the hamburger or the conclusion to sum up all the key points of interest. The conclusion sentence should be interesting by giving it a call to action. As you can see a hamburger is easy to make like writing is not as hard as you think. Writing is very simple to do as preparing a hamburger.
