Week 4 at FIUSM has been quite the experience. I have gotten to make some friends from within WRGP and participated in some after school events to support WRGP. I have been doing well on air at the radio station. And every time I go on air I gain confidence and experience. This week is the first time I received a call from a listener. It was conforming to know I have listeners and try to show my appreciation by playing a song they requested. In essence, week 4 was a fantastic week, followed all procedures, gained an audience and made new friends at WRGP. Although I’m still adjusting to the new environment everyone in FIUSM has made me feel welcome. I hope when I decide a Topic for my show that I will have the staff of WRGP help me along
Over the course of this semester, I have learned a lot about who I am. I have discovered things that I did not know about myself. Choosing Spelman College as an institute to education myself at was only the first step that I took. Overcoming the challenges that it has brought is the second step that I am yet taking. I am slowly, but surely transforming into a Free Thinking Woman.
Thinking about having the ability to embody all of the students within Texas A&M’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences quickly grabs my attention. The majority of the goals I have set for myself throughout my life have been related to bettering the community I was apart of. In order to achieve my goals, I have talked to my peers to create an concept that could benefit everyone. Afterwards we put the plan into motion.
I am writing in concern of the Focus 2 assessment. This assessment is made up of 5 short questionnaires. Each one of the surveys, consist of roughly eighteen multiple choice questions. These questions all come from personal knowledge as well as personal preferences. Once each assessment is completed, the software gathers the information to compute majors that are most likely in one’s career interest. On personal experience, upon personal completion of the assessment, I was amazed by the outcome of the results. In my work interest assessment I scored high in artistic and low in conventional, these results surprised because I never thought of myself being artistic in ways of poetry, singing, acting, or painting. My personal values were income,
Sorry for late update mail. I've been working improving what's already done as I didn't have much else to do during last week. This is brief summary of things that I've done during last week.
Week 4: What an amazing week I have had. My children are on holiday, we have had a lot fun activities to do as a family. Holidays are the only times I get to spend with my children as I work from Monday to Friday. I have also taken some time off work, hence I am not as stressed as I am most of the times. However I tend to manage my stress well by practising. I really appreciate your feedback and the guidance given during this course work.
Good discussion forum, everyone providing excellent tips and information which adds a lot more value to our learning, especially this week that I was not sure what answers were expected for the discussion.
I think overall we as a group were entirely successful. We all contributed to the parts that were assigned that week with what we thought were the correct answers. Likewise, we
This week was not too bad in regards to any of the work I actually needed to do. There are definitely some concepts that I think I need to improve my understanding but I think that I did take away what was available from the texts we were provided.
We are on week four, time is going by fast. I Just got home and went strait to my office, I want to get the class started, I am happy about my graded test last week I did well.
I have enjoyed getting to know and working with all of you over the last few weeks. As always, I learn as much if not more from all of you than vice versa. Best of luck in all
During this week, there was a recap of the previous weeks, meaning that we had follow-up meetings that Pam and I did together; and the follow-up meetings that I broke off into for experiences in other departments. The meetings that were followed up on was to check for any progress or completions of the pilot programs being
Upon reflection of the FYE 105 course material from this semester I realized there have been many techniques I have been able to improve or learn new strategies for academic success in the pursuit of lifelong learning. After being out of a traditional school for over twenty years, my academic success strategy began with obtaining a rhythm of life and school. Once I developed and implemented a good personal time management routine that allowed ample time for the many competing activities life brings, I was on course for success in achieving my goals. One aspect of this class that had a significant impact on my academic success was modifying the way I took notes to include all essential information in an easy to read and review format. I will be able to use the notetaking and time management techniques I have learned this semester in not only all future courses but in any environment requiring detailed notes and strict time management to ensure success.
First and foremost, I think it is safe to say we have been doing great work this semester so far. We have a great staff to work with, and little conflict between members. Our stories so far have been top-notch, and I expect the next few weeks will produce pieces of similar quality. I look forward to wrapping out the year with both of you.
Week four at Wild Dunes began on Sunday with three evening shifts 3-11PM. Sunday, the 31st was extremely slow with very few arrivals. I was able to concentrate on one of my goals – mastering the complex computer system. Being the perfectionist that I am, it is frustrating when I feel as though I haven’t mastered a skill so I’m working on that aspect of my personality. Since the shift was so slow, I was released early on this Sunday as there were no arrivals due in at the late hours.
Lastly the Women Global Leadership Forum was held. This forum was a huge success that gave the company valuable information they need as they proceeded to the next step.
