"We 're the only burger chain that doesn 't have milkshakes. But we couldn 't possibly have a milkshake that comes of out of the machine" Jerry says (Roger, Y, 2009).
Second factor quality of food is the heart core factor that contributed to the success of Five Guys burger. "Five Guys ' burger is better than McDonald 's," says Tristano. "Americans have always fallen in love with a better product "(Burke M, 2012). Speaking about quality food that offers Five Guys includes superior quality of meat, eighty percent lean, always fresh, never frozen at all. Potatoes always come from northern Idaho, because of weather condition they grow more slowly, solid and tasty in comparison to the potatoes grown in California or Florida, grow faster and are cheaper used by other fast food chains. Five Guys use anything but the best. Five Guys first soak fries in water so when the fries are per fried, the water boils, forcing steam out of the fry. This forma a seal so that when they get fried a second time, the fries don 't absorb any oil and so are never oily. "Fries are much harder than burgers" says Murrell. "We work day and night on them, all the damn time." (Burke M, 2012). Five Guys menu allows the chain to focus all its energy on executing its burger "perfectly" (Licata, E., 2009). Five Guys burger decided they would cook only in peanut oil, which cost five times as much as the oil, other burger restaurants were using (Lottie L., 2012).
The Five Guys mission statement, as simple as its menu, is aligned with the philosophy that if you 're going to sell hamburgers and fries in a restaurant industry that has a lot of hamburger-french-fries business, you 'd better do hamburgers and fries well than the competitors. Five Guy’s focus is not to add more items to the menu, but to serve top quality burgers and fries to keep their business booming. According to Boonze and Kutrz (2012) Murrell states “We figure our best salesman is our customer”, “treat that person right, he’ll walk out the door and sell for you” (pg. 78). This philosophy is one of the key factors that keep Five Guy’s apart from other fast-food chains.
Unlimited, endless, fast food choices, and yet there are two that stand out above the rest. McDonald’s and Burger King are the two biggest burger fast food chains in the world. So let me ask you this, who has a better menu? Who’s Cheaper? And which one is healthier? This debate will once and for all come to an end, once all of these points have been met throughout my paper. McDonald’s vs. Burger King has been a long running argument. You will finally come to realize that McDonald’s is the better choice for you.
Throughout all of human history, mankind has searched for the ultimate food. To our enjoyment, in 1950, the world was given the answer: Whataburger. Whataburger has taken the hearts of Americans by storm by by serving classic southern style burgers, fries, and shakes. Despite it’s humble beginnings in Corpus Christi, the franchise now boasts over 750 locations and has even secured the 2016 title of “Best Burger in America”. In an effort to understand why this small burger chain became so successful evaluating this legendary business in three different aspects: price, quality, and customer service.
However, one of Five Guys’ unique features compared to Burger King and McDonald’s is to only offer fresh, never frozen, eighty percent lean meat burgers that are made to order. Many of the traditional fast food burger restaurants, only offer frozen patties cooked in advanced, and stored under heated lamp until ordered by the customers. They also offer the customers seventeen free toppings for their burgers. Additionally, they use the same kind of bun for the burgers; as well as the original baker.
We all know that hamburger does not go well if it does not have fries. This company provides a lot of fries to McDonald’s restaurant.
McDonalds’ french fry taste has nothing to do with the potatoes being used by the company, the fries get their taste from the cooking oil. 7
Chick fil A is a unique company and is clearly different from most fast-food restaurants; employees are kind, helpful and maintain a clean environment no matter where they located. As stated previously Chick-fil- A’s corporate purpose is constructive in addition it emphasizes their culture “To glorify god by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil- A.” (cite) This statement truly shows how the company’s leadership has created a culture where service is just as important as profit. The emphasis of this section of the paper will be to research while also analyzing how Chick-fil-A makes people a priority and how doing things in an uncommon way has certainly helped Chick-fil-A create a strong culture as well as a successful business.
The paper will determine how Five Guy’s philosophy sets them apart from other fast-food chains. Also will analyze the original values for the startup company and how it remains strong today. Thirdly, enumerate three factors that contributed to Five Guy’s success in such a short time and what effect, if any, external markets had on these factors. Finally, assess how ethical and social practices are part of the Five Guy’s culture and provide examples to support your choices.
This case study will analyze the findings of my research on the general overview of Chick-fil-A from conception to future projections all while analyzing the external environment , current strategies, and current objectives. Then I will detail some strategies that I would recommend if I were the CEO and my reasoning. My research will also detail the competitive strategies used by the company's main competitors and how Chick-fil-A could combat these strategies.
Since the opening of Chick-Fil-A, they have received over 2 billion dollars in sales. The company’s great recipe for success is due to the marketing strategy of product, price, place, and promotion. The additional two P’s, purpose and people, also give a hand in the success. Purpose, guiding the company’s strategy planning process, and people, being key to implementing strategy. For the company, product itself is the fact that the food is made fresh every day, only making just enough inventory to sell. They found that customers reward great product. Since Chick-Fil-A makes their product, using the very best resources they can, the customers are willing to pay full
Many People may have caught them self's standing in long lines or long drive thru lines to be able to get their hands on one of these delouse burgers. Some People even wish they lived on the west coast just to be able to eat one of these famous burgers when ever they wish to. Well in 1948, Harry and Esther Snynder opened their very first IN-N-Out burger at Francisquito and Garvey in Baldwin Park. The restaurant was the first drive-thru hamburger stand in California, allowing drivers to place orders via a two-way speaker system. This was a new and unique idea, since in post-World War II California, carhops were used to take orders and serve food. After their success with they're first restaurant the Snynder's decided to open a second restaurant

Five Guys is a fast casual restaurant chain that originated in Arlington, Virginia[->0] within the Washington Metropolitan Area[->1]. The chain sells mainly hamburgers[->2], hot dogs[->3] and French Fries[->4]. Five Guys enterprises has grown from a single family owned restaurant to a franchise with 450 locations in thirty states. Five Guys opened its doors to Arlington, Virginia in 1986. The restaurant was started by four brothers who were given the choice to start a business or go to college by their parents. The burger and fry shop drew in a ‘cult-like’ clientele base which demanded the opening of four additional locations in the Metro D.C. area between 1986 and 2001.
The article I chose for the assignment is about the Shake Shack IPO (Initial Public Offering) and the environment in which is was released. The restaurant’s stock launch was a major success, as the price per share skyrocketed at a growth of 119% from $21 to $45.90, in one day of trading. With the intense growth that Shake Shack experienced, the chain of 63 restaurants was valued at $1.6 billion, which had investors pouring in. While it was expected for Shake Shack to be a success on the launch of their IPO, their valuation and continued growth has shown the shift in the market of restaurants. Society has moved from the fast food era, to a new adaptation, “fast-casual”. Restaurants such as Noodles, Chipotle, Garbanzo, and many others have capitalized on the shift from value to quality based desires.
