The health and wellbeing of individuals is generally determined by their circumstances and environment, a phenomenon referred to as the social determinants of health. In this report it will be analyzing my personal diet. I analyzed myself over a 3 day period. During this period, I analyzed my eating habits on national holidays versus my day to day life. I am a 20 year old female (not pregnant or lactating) I estimate my weight to be 195 lbs. and my height is 5 foot 6 inches. My daily activity level is sedentary. My job is as a leasing professional and in that profession there is some foot traffic but not much. There is also limited heavy lifting. Out of work I participate in limited physical activity. I rock climb on some occasions and attend the gym occasionally. My personal goals currently is to stay healthy. As I lessen my work load I would like to increase my physical activity with strength training and cardio. Pertaining to my nutrition within the 3 days due to their being a holiday I ate more meat than usual. I try to add more vegetables to my diet. Fruit are not often added to my meals due to how quickly they decompose. I eat mostly organic products and limited dairy. I try to avoid bread and pasta and use vegetables as substitute in recipes that require them.
During this week, I Edgar Burgos had to conduct a food intake for 3 consecutive days. This paper will describe my nutritional endeavor for the past three days. After I eat the meals which are rich of nutrition, I usually feel energetic for whole day. The delicious and healthy food I cooked is like the gas oil plug into my body to run as fast as a car. The cooking program I watch the most is The Chew, it talks about how food are related to healthy lifestyle. Before I sleep, I like to eat a piece of dark chocolate to relax the tension on my nerve. The taste of chocolate give me a sweet dream. According to the book, Be Happy Be Healthy. A German researchers found that eating only square of dark chocolate a day lowered the risk of hear attack and stroke by 39%. Other studies also found that chocolate lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. During weekend, I like to go to some fantastic restaurant to fulfill my esurient tongue. As a foodie enjoys food so much, my weight never over fifty kilogram, I guess it is due to my smart choice on food. I dislike dunk food as it is not match to my foodie’s taste. Brunch of meat without nutrition. French fires, contain trans-fat oil, increase the rate for heart disease. The high level of sugar in soft drink contribute to obesity and kidney problem.
Mental health problems are believed to be the result of a combination of factors, including age, genetics and environmental factors. One of the most obvious, yet under-recognized factors in the development of major trends in mental health is the role of nutrition.(Associate Parliamentary & Health, 2008). Recent evidence suggests that good nutrition is essential for our mental health and that a number of mental health conditions may be influenced by dietary factors.. The body of evidence linking both diet and mental health is growing at a rapid pace ( Associate Parliamentary & Health, 2008). Recently, there have been a number of published studies identifying an inverse association between diet quality and the common mental disorders, namely depression and anxiety, in adults (Bellisle, 2004). Other prospective studies suggest that diet quality influences the risk for depressive illness in adults over time. The evidence indicates that food plays a contributing role in the development, management and prevention of specific mental health problems such as depression, schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and Alzheimer’s disease ( Associate Parliamentary & Health, 2008).
