Five former IBM employee from Mannheim, Germany started this product which provided customers the ability to interact with common corporations. SAP stands for Systems Applications and Products and are intended to help small to large industries to run efficiently. SAP is the largest enterprise application software company where more than 120 countries use the SAP software. There are more than 300,000 customers since it was founded in 1972. Their annual profit is 6 billion proving it to be a successful. According to The TImes of India, SAP is recently hits their record high on operating profit in 2015. SAP was ranked first as world leader for ERP Providers in 2011 proving themselves to be a consistent software.
Whiles SAP the biggest vendor in ERP system, there are a few others vendors is competing along the ways. For example, Oracle share 13 percent of the market place the second below SAP, Epicor and Infor have 6 percent place the third and the fourth, then come Microsoft dynamics share 5 percent of the market.
