Logan, I like your this week reflection. I am very glad you do see the benefits of coming to the IQ sessions and discussing the required material. This is true you can memorize whet you heard during lectures or what you read in the book but talking about it in the small group set up with your colleagues help you to recognize if you have good understanding of what you’ve learned. Overall I think you did a very good job this week as a scribe putting all discussed subject on the board in a very concise manner. You had greater participation this week too. I am really glad you are making more effort to be more vocal. You added many times important aspects to the discussion and helped to clarify other. In our Friday checkout Megan summarized nicely
In When We Fight, We Win by Greg Jobin-Leeds it says that “comparison can block compassion both for others and for ourselves.” I agree with such statement; I think that listening is a skill you learn throughout time. One can pretend to listen without really getting anything out of the conversation that one is having with that other person. In the Compassionate Listening workshop, I got to do it with Rachel Kurland and I sit and listened to her talking about the moment her friend treason her. I tried to understand her plight, why would she not cut that friendship off, I understood she loved her friend, however, I could not resist bringing my biases to our conversation. I asked myself, why is Rachel, such a good, loving, and smart person,
That was a beautiful week, I enjoyed reading all of the materials despite my challenge about the electricity issues. I have some concerns because until now due to electricity issues I am unable to participate in the discussion forum. I posted so late in the discussion when the electricity was established I prepared my assignments, I assessed my peers, and I did not find enough time to go in the discussion forum to read and rate my fellow classmates; and I did not grade for my discussion. Then, I will strive to see how I am going to solve this problem quickly.
Good discussion forum, everyone providing excellent tips and information which adds a lot more value to our learning, especially this week that I was not sure what answers were expected for the discussion.
I think overall we as a group were entirely successful. We all contributed to the parts that were assigned that week with what we thought were the correct answers. Likewise, we
This week was not too bad in regards to any of the work I actually needed to do. There are definitely some concepts that I think I need to improve my understanding but I think that I did take away what was available from the texts we were provided.
I don't think this would be an effective stratgey in keeping her students attention on the lesson. Because the student can appartently doodle in whatever way they like and their doodles might acutally distract from the topic of the lesson. However, if the teacher would've of ask them to use the paper and makers to write notes about the lesson or to dreaw one or more pictuers of the concept she wants them to
Chris McCandless, the subject of Jon Krakauer in Into the Wild, was not insensible or ill-equipped, but rather he was going out into the wild to locate the genuine importance of life and to perceive what it resembled to live out in the wild all alone. Chris was an incredible good example for children the whole way across the nation; since he was attempting to experience his fantasy and do what he believed was appropriate in the wild and would not tune in to what anybody instructed him to do. Chris McCandless was an adoring and minding individual who esteemed for all creation and needed to make tracks in an opposite direction from the general public and live allowed to locate the significance of life.
Reflection is a major factor in "developing self-awareness" to improve services provided to everyone around me, this is to develop my own understanding in realising the good and bad made previously. Moving forward with a better understanding, as well as rectifying the mistake whilst recognizing the good points, (Horton-Deutsch and Sherwood, 2008).
Looking back at project 3, I felt very happy with the essay I produced. I am not one to enjoy writing since I usually do not feel very confident in my writing. I felt the work I produced through project 3 was one of my best. I put a lot of effort into this essay and it showed in my final draft. With this being said, after comparing my essay to the rubric I gave myself a 3.64 overall on this project for many reasons. This essay in no means was perfect, but I learned from my strengths and weaknesses.
I believe a person strength can also be measured by the constructive criticism given, consequently is placed into adherence. Therefore, last week we both made some noticeable errors, however this week we both corrected them accordingly. The reference section of your paper was done, in my opinion studiously perfect. The citations were great references for the paper and there were no unused pronouns. This make it simpler for Jeffery to attach to our final group paper, awesome! Although the post demonstrated complete APA guidelines it did not adhere to the professor’s complete instructions. The professor wants us to use short topics in place of the questions. I am sure this is was an oversite as it happens to me all the time. Lastly, each onlinemate was asked to answer a panel of four question demonstrating engagement with the material again this is well executed. In addition, Chapter 5 was a beast of its own. There are 5 more question needing
I am aware that it is optional but what I have learned is that, completing the weekly Quizzes, really helps when I am studying for the Graded Quizzes. I was also able to complete the Discussion Assignment and post it to the Discussion Forum. Completing the Discussion Assignment was not that hard because having gone through my notes, I was able to find the six things that struck me as most important to Statistics. When I looked at what some of my peers had posted, I realized most of the things that I thought were important, they too said it was important to them. This made me feel confident because we shared the same thoughts, so at least I knew I wasn’t wrong (not that there is any right or wrong answer in this case). The feedback that I got from my peers made me feel very good. One student said my post was great and they thought I did well of summarizing the most important aspects of statistics and R programming. I am glad that we have the opportunity to peer review each other because this way, we can know what other students think instead of always getting feedback from an
This semester I learned a lot about writing in English 151. It has been a roller coaster ride with these essays for me this semester. I learned step by step how to write a good essay and how to have your readers be engaged in what you’re trying to tell them. Each essay I did has taught me something valuable I can take to the next level of English. I feel as if as the semester went by I did not take my writing that seriously and that reflected in my grades I received in each essay. It made me a better student and writer and it will reflect next semester. In this essay, I will reflect on what I learned throughout this semester that you should apply in your writing when you begin English 151.
The purpose of this assignment is to discuss the contribution of reflective practice for clinical nursing. Reflection has been defined as a way for individuals to “capture their experience, think about it, mull it over and evaluate” (Boud et al 1985: 19)
For the last six weeks in both mental and acute setting, I have reflected on events that I had met in each week. Now, I am going to identify essential personal learning outcomes from those events and will include personal awareness of strengths and weaknesses. Among the different models of reflection, I will use the Gibbs model of reflection which entails six stages such as description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, action plan.
As we begin to wrap up this semester, I reflect on all the learning and achievements I have obtained thus far in the program. Throughout this semester, my communication and relational capacity has grown, driving me to break out of my comfort shell. At the beginning of this year I had wrote a letter to myself, outlining three goals that I wanted to achieve. The three goals were: work with a palliative client, become more assertive, and to integrate family care into my practice. I began the semester off in acute care, on the medical floor. During the second part of the semester, I was assigned to be in the first group of students to start the Trail Outreach Nursing. My new placement has created a new goal of increasing my communication
