Love what you have because it may not always be their. It has been a stated fact by the Global Issues.org that 80% of the world population is facing poverty and in these two stories two women face the burden of poverty in different ways. In “The Necklace” Mme. Loisel is unhappy with her belongings and wants flashy new and expensive new things as for in the “Gift of the Magi “ Della and Jim are happy with their belongings and embrace love as a substitute for materialistic thoughts and needs.In “The Necklace”, by the examples the author gave he was showing tha madam louisel was greedy and unthankful. Loisel and Della have many similarities like how they both came from poverty. They both face a huge surprise at the end madame louisel faced the impact in a negative way as the times passed she fell a lot more into poverty and her life fell i feel like this is what i would call karma as madame louisel did not appreciate all about what her husband did for her and what he sacrificed.
