I will discuss the results of the MyManagementLab assessment. I was able to obtain these results from going through the assessments provided by Robbins & Judge using MyManagementLab. Some of the assessment results came as expected, while others came as unexpected due to having a management role in a previous job. I was expecting a very different outcome to some of the assessments. But after reviewing the reasoning behind scoring of the assessment, I realized that I had never dealt with the situations asked in the assessment and I responded how I would respond in that type of situation. This paper will examine and discuss the results of the MyManagementLab assessment.

Many organizations and establishments have philosophies in how an organization is to be functioning and which positions are necessary to execute the plan. One of the crucial positions that make the establishment function is that of a Supervisor. The term supervisor is a word with Latin roots which means “to look over,” however, a supervisor is viewed as a person who is an immediate overseer to an employee at a workplace. The supervisor is the person an employee would directly report to for any work related situation. A supervisor plays an essential part of the management team that gives an organization purpose and leadership by being responsible for employees’ progress and productivity (Bittel & Newstrom, 1992).
Management differs today than it did in the past. In the past, managers were considered “bosses” and their job mostly consisted of giving employees orders, monitoring performance and reprimanding unproductive behavior and misconduct. Many managers still manage employees in such fashion; however, some managers now tend to be more proactive and have changed managerial functions for the betterment of company operations and performance to accomplish organizational goals. Effective management for company success now entails guiding, training, supporting, motivating and coaching employees verses

All of the information presented in step one provided from was utilized via Pearson’s Personality Inventory Assessment test. (Pearson MyManagementLab) One of the first tests I took, recognized that I was a high Type A personality. Some factors that I found informative were that while Type A individuals have increased productivity, dependability, and greater work ethic, they are also subject to health risks and interpersonal challenges. During the self-awareness assessment, I ranked as having a
I want to begin this paper by stating what my initial thought was once I reviewed and analyzed all of the results, I can sum it up into one word – WOW! These results couldn’t be more dead-on than they are; about ninety-five percent of the results hit the nail on the proverbial head. Yes, I disagree with about five percent of the analysis, but overall, it’s amazing how accurate these scores reflect individuals various behaviors and management types and as I took these assessments, I kept thinking, “quite a few of these questions are somewhat ambiguous.”
To be marked competent in this unit, students must respond to all points in the project. A be comprehensive, detailed, demonstrate appropriate research procedures and be supported by suitable references.
I have to admit that I was skeptical in completing the personality profile. I thought, “How could a few questions determine everything about my management style”. When I received my results, I was astonished at how accurately those results portrayed my personality. While deciding which of my personality traits were advantageous and which were detrimental to my management style, I became conflicted as all of my scores can be portrayed as both positive and negative depending on the situation.
Schermerhorn (2015) found based on Fayol’s findings that managers of different levels are given the task of carrying out management functions such as planning, organising, leading and controlling.Cunningham (1979) believed that this was the perception a manager had regarding his job and that the effectiveness of a manager inculcating this in his work is the
Many people believe they can either be a good or great manager. The actual reality to this is some people are actually not fit to be a manager either because they do not know what to do or because they do not know how to handle themselves. Throughout this paper, management styles will be discussed, and the qualities of a good manager.
Over the past hundred years management has continuously been evolving. There have been a wide range of approaches in how to deal with management or better yet how to improve management functions in our ever changing environment. From as early as 1100 B.C managers have been struggling with the same issues and problems that manager's face today. Modern managers use many of the practices, principles, and techniques developed from earlier concepts and experiences.
Countless studies and meta-analysis have been done on the effect of the individual personality on success, whether it be within the workplace or an educational institute (ETS, 2016).
Management is one of the most important human activities and has critical impact on life, growth, development or destruction of an organisation. In an organisation, managers with any rank or status should understand their basic duties i.e. maintaining a sustainable conductive environment where people can fulfil their commitments and objectives through collaborative approach. (Akhtar, 2011) A manager is responsible to achieve the business’s goals, visions and objectives by planning, organising, leading and controlling. Dubrin (1994) stated that in every organisation each member of staff must plan, organise, make decisions, and control the resources they need to accomplish the results expected
