Introduction:
Meiosis is also called reductional division. It is referred to as the process, in which a single diploid cell divides twice and gives rise to four haploid cells. The process of meiosis occurs in the gametic cells, that is, sperms in males and the ovum in females. Meiosis takes place in two stages - meiosis I and II.
