Benchmark Assignment: Gospel Essentials
There are a variety of differing worldviews in practice today. Every person has a worldview that is shaped by their experiences, pasts, families, traditions, values, and beliefs that form the core of who they are. The Christian worldview is no exception. This worldview is formed by the beliefs and teachings of the Bible. The worldview is shaped and centered around the view of who God is, the purpose of humanity, the true identity of Jesus, the restoration of humans to God, acknowledging the strengths and weakness of the worldview, and the practicality of living out the worldview.
God
The first foundational aspect of the worldview is found in who God is. The Christian’s worldview of God is that God is part of the Trinity, which is made up of three persons: The Father, the Son (who is fully God and man), and the Holy Spirit, but they are all one God (Diffey, 2014). God is the sovereign creator of all things, “All things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together,” (Colossians 1: 16-17, English Standard Version). Love was the defining factor for God creating the world, “God’s act of creation is an act of love of the purest sort” (Dodds & Dodds, 2011, p. 210). God created the world and is still actively involved in it because, “If God’s creative activity is needed to account for the first existence of the world, there is every reason to think that it would be needed to account
God can be a very controversial subject depending on who you are talking to in this day and time; some people believe, some believe in other Gods and then there are other groups who do not believe in anything beyond this life. God has always had to deal with those who do not believe. God has been persecuted since the beginning of time and has proven over and over that is very much who he says he is. This paper will give you a better understanding of who God is, how humanity is affected by their beliefs, who Jesus is and how he is the way to the heavenly father and creator as well as how restoration will impact our lives as well as the beliefs I hold in God and how everything he created relies on the next in some way to survive.
When you think “Christian Worldview,” what comes to mind? I know I automatically think; God, Jesus, Christians, and Prayer. As I have learned through my Christian Worldview class, I have learned that there is a lot more to it and this paper will provide you with what I have learned. Throughout this assignment, I will explain about God, Humanity, Jesus, restoration, my analysis of the Christian Faith, and my reflection.
A worldview is the way a person views and interprets the world around them. Life experiences and spiritual influences play a part in forming one’s worldview. A person’s worldview helps them to determine beliefs on creation, humanity, morals and what happens after death. According to Waddell, (2014) “Worldviews are also like lenses found in eyeglasses that serve as the means through which a person sees the world.” (para. 43) In this paper, the main components of the Christian worldview will be discussed, to include God, humanity, Jesus, restoration and analysis of Christian Faith as well as a reflection of my own beliefs.

When you look around and gaze at the beautiful creation before you, do you reflect on how amazing God is? God made the creation, man, and everything surrounding the two. There are many different worldviews. This paper will focus on the Christian worldview. The Christian worldview involves God, humanity, Jesus, and restoration.
Let’s talk about the world about 2,000 years ago. It was a world where the mass of people were illiterate, taxes were extremely high, and the leaders would cheat and kill to feed their ever growing need for power. We all can relate to having a good storyteller in our lives, most were read to at night by their parents or are parents themselves that read to their children. What is the purpose of storytelling? It’s simple, comfort. A good story can ease your psychological unrest as well as offer a moral purpose. Sometimes you can even relate a story to your own life and offer an explanation to something you may be experiencing. This is exactly what the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were. They told their stories of Jesus to offer comfort to their people in a time when people could not pick up a story and read it themselves. It is part of human nature to have the desire for a good story. This paper will describe several events that were written by great storytellers in the bible.
Our worldview allows us to see into the world at such an angle that it coincides with our beliefs, therefore affecting how we think and live. Whether one falls under an atheistic, pantheistic, or theistic worldview, they are guided in their life choices depending on the beliefs of their worldview. Throughout this paper, I will summarize the elements of a Christian Worldview such as God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration; I will then analyze questions one might have about the Christian Worldview, and finally I will reflect on my worldview.
Benchmark Assignment: Gospel Essentials “A worldview is a foundational set of assumptions to which one commits that serves as a framework for understanding and interpreting reality and deeply shapes one’s behavior.” (Waddell, James 2014. Para. 7). The Christian worldview is thousands of years old. It is the foundation that drives people’s lives daily.
A worldview is the framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world. I base my worldview on the infallible Word of God. I believe the Bible to be entirely true, that it is the foundation of everything I say and do. I believe in a Christian worldview in which my primary reason for existence is to love and serve God. I stand firm on “The Apostles Creed” believing in God the Father, who is maker of the heaven and earth. I recognize that “in Him all things hold together” (Col. 1:17), for all true knowledge flows from Him. In this paper, I will explain my belief in Jesus Christ and my Christian worldview.
A worldview is made from a set of assumptions created by an individual or a group of people forming a belief system that guides them in how they perceive reality to be in this world. Belief systems are often created by those before us which; are then instilled into future generations. In today’s world there are many different types of belief systems being taught, however; “there are three basic worldviews that most belief systems fall into which are; Atheism, Pantheism and Theism.” (GCU Lecture 1, 2015) Christianity holds a Theism worldview and is the “largest religion in America with; eighty-three percent of Americans claiming to be Christians”. (Analysis & Langer, 2016 ) A Christian worldview revolves around the teachings from the Old and New Testament in the Bible which; are referred to as Gospels known as the word of God since; “all scripture is God breathed”. (2 Timothy 3:16) The essentials of the Gospel are made up of God, humanity, Jesus and restoration and in analyzing Christianity, then reflecting on my own worldview I will conclude with my final thoughts on the Gospel essentials.
Everyone has a worldview. This may be something we do not think about on the regular, but we all have one. A worldview is our set of beliefs used to understand the world. It shapes our thoughts on how we interpret reality, and forms our moral opinions. Our regular worldview is formed by almost anything secular, jobs, money, family even education. Then there is a Christian’s Worldview which would be our sacred doings.
A worldview should be the foundation to every aspect in your life whether its’ your morals, marriage, your job, the politics you believe in, or even your desires. A worldview is simple; it is how you view the world around you. However, in order to really understand a worldview you must ask yourself the core questions such as why we are even here on earth, what is wrong with the world we live in, and lastly is it fixable. A Christian worldview would answer that we are here because we were created by God, the problems in the world are because of sin, and it’s all fixable with believing in Jesus.
In today’s society, there are many factors that contribute to worldviews. People look at life differently and draw conclusions based on their experiences. A Christian worldview is how a Christian interprets the world and how they decide to interact with others. In a letter to Rome, the Apostle Paul communicates standards that are essential to the Christian worldview. In his correspondence, Paul conveys how certain aspects of a worldview relate to the natural world, human identity, human relationship and culture. As we learn these underlying ideas that shape our worldview, it is important to remember we are God created and as humans our Christian worldview is accomplished through our Creator God, the Spirit of God, the word of God, and the body of God which is His church. God in all His glory affects how we interpret and interact with others.
While Christians make up one of the world’s largest religious groups on the planet, there are many incorrect stereotypes and assumptions made about how Christians live and what they believe in. Many people believe that having a Christian worldview simply means you follow a set of rules, memorize Bible verses, and just like that you’re saved. The people with this perspective on Christianity have a grossly inaccurate view of what the worldview consists of. In reality, a Christian based worldview is biblically grounded as well as being culturally literate and is ultimately defined by hope.
The most important thing in the Christian religion is to know and understand who God really is. God is our Creator and the reason we exist. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). God created everything on this earth in a good and orderly fashion and everything had its purpose. In Genesis 1, it is
