The electronic cigarette world seems to be full of slangs and terminologies that only those who smoke these cigarettes understand. But it’s really not that complicated.
Common questions, non electronic smokers ask include, what exactly is in an electronic cigarette? What do the smokers inhale? What makes these electronic cigarettes better than traditional cigarettes? And what does a complete electronic cigarette kit consist of?
Lets answer some of these questions.
Electronic cigarettes became popular because the health risks of tobacco smoking were too obvious to ignore. And the people who care about smokers were unhappy with the effects and inconveniences of tobacco smoking. The smell, the cost, the coughing, and the seemingly looming death. But addiction is not

This vapor has different flavors, nicotine, water, propylene glycol and glycerin in it. This sounds like a lot but it is a healthier than traditional cigarettes (presumably). On the positive side, electronic cigarettes contain no tobacco, no smoke or fire and no ash or smell.
A complete electronic cigarette kit consists of the charger to keep the battery charged, a cartridge filled with the e-liquid, and a long lasting battery that usually comes with an LED at the tip that lights up like a real cigarette when its sucked on and may also indicate battery status.
There you have it. In simple terms. What an electronic cigarette is, and what an electronic cigarette kit contains.
Even if they are considerably safe (they cannot burn your house down in the middle of the night, that’s a relief!), there are safety precautions for e-cigarette smokers. But that’s a post for another day.
If you’re curious and want to experiment, you should make sure you buy from an assured source.

Using the liquid for electronic cigarettes cuts out all the extra chemicals that are found in traditional cigarettes.
Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are devices that deliver aerosolized nicotine to the user by heating a liquid (typically propylene glycol) containing nicotine and flavoring agents. Most devices share a common design – a plastic tube containing a battery, an airflow sensor, a heating element and a cartridge containing the liquid (Figure 1).
“ The true face of smoking is disease, death and horror – not the glamour and sophistication the pushers in the tobacco industry try to portray ”. – David Byrne. Smoking has been an habit in teenagers and adults for a very long time and it is well known that it is harmful for them as well for the environment. Technology has advanced, and now there are electronic cigarettes, called E-cigarette, which are devices with battery that carry nicotine heated aersosol in a fashion that imitates common cigarettes, while carrying lower levels of toxins than a conventional lit cigarette. They can be used indoors, which allows smokers to get their fix wherever and whenever they want. A study from NBC News (Leshae) shows that electronic cigarettes are a technique for smokers to try quitting their addictions. Manufacturers consider that e-cigarattes are healthier than normal tobacco cigarattes, since smokers are inhaling vaporized nicotine rather of carcinogen-filled smoke. However, according to a Thomas Jefferson University Alumni article, some reseachers have found harmful ingredients in certain e-cigarettes, such as ethylene glycol poisoning, a primary ingredient in brake fluid and antifreeze. E-cigarettes mey seem like a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes, nevertheless there is some research that proves the contrary and we still don’t know its long term effect.
Travis Legge age 34 smoked two packets of cigarettes every day for more than 10 years. Travis made the switch to the e-cigarette as a healthier substitute; Travis says, “since I started using them, I feel like I got more energy and it's easier to breathe." Legge is just one out of millions of people who use electronic cigarettes instead of your average cigarette. E-Cigarettes can make others quit using ordinary cigarettes; A lot is still unknown about the health effects on the e-cigarettes. A U.S Surgeon has raised concerns about the use of electronic cigarettes, and how they now are the “most commonly used form of tobacco” (“E-Cigarettes: A major health concern”). An electronic cigarette is a battery operated device which releases nicotine from the flavored liquid put into the e-cigarette. Some people might think that the e-cigarette devices are a good way for others to reduce the amount of average cigarette users. Others may think that they can affect other people, and there may be unknown harmful chemicals in the liquid in these devices. Electronic cigarettes can also be known as an e-cigarette. Since the topic of electronic cigarettes are controversial, banning them may have the effects on one's Freedom/Rights, Health/Safety, and Addiction.
Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered smoking devices often designed to look and feel like regular cigarettes. They use cartridges filled with a liquid that contains nicotine, flavorings, and other
In 2003, Han Lik, a Chinese pharmacist, developed the electronic cigarette after the death of his father due to lung cancer. Electronic cigarettes are battery-operated devices that are filled with flavored liquid that may or may not contain nicotine that can be inhaled by the user. The device gives smokers that experience of a traditional cigarette but without all the tar, tobacco, and carcinogens. The vaporization in electronic cigarettes is started by the battery heating up the liquid solution, then creating a vapor that can be inhaled. Some are in the form of a regular cigarette while others are in the shape of a pen (Prono). The FDA does not currently regulate e-cigarettes and there are no long-term studies on the effects of the chemicals used in the vapor solutions.
Electronic cigarettes, more commonly know as e-cigarettes have taken the 21st century by storm. They are handheld devices that have evolved dramatically since they were first introduced to the U.S. in 2006. They have a variety of models ranging from the traditional cigarettes, to different sizes, shapes, and features. The battery-powered device is not regulated by the FDA and does not use tobacco. Instead they deliver nicotine to the user through the conversion of various chemicals such as nicotine, propylene, glycol, glycerin, and flavoring chemicals in to vapor to be inhaled. The battery on the device heats up to produce the vapor that the user inhales.
Electronic cigarettes (also called e-cigarettes or electronic nicotine delivery systems) are battery-operated devices designed to deliver nicotine with flavorings and other chemicals to users in vapor instead of smoke. There are three main categories of e-cigarettes: cigalikes, looking like cigarettes, either disposable or with rechargeable batteries and replaceable nicotine cartridges; tank systems, bigger than cigalikes with refillable liquid tanks; and mods, assembled from basic parts or by altering existing products.[11] A cigalike e-cigarette contains a atomizer, which is connected to a battery. E-cigarettes are generally cylindrical, with many variations.[9]
Electronic cigarettes have became extremely popular almost overnight it seems. These devices have worked their way into people’s everyday lives and are continuing to get even more popular. E-cigs are so popular because they do not have near as many chemicals as cigarettes, one can pick the flavor of their liking, and the smoke does not stink as traditional tobacco cigarette smoke does. In most places e-cigarette shops have been opened and are now selling regulated devices. In a battle between cigarettes and e-cigs, e-cigs are winning in sales and in popularity. Smoking is a dangerous habit causing countless problems in society; however, to curb this trend, smokers may resort to electronic cigarettes, as they help people stop smoking tobacco, promote better health, and satisfy their nicotine addictions.
According to Fairchild et al. (2004), even though the concept of “safer” cigarettes received support from federal and voluntary institutions in the 1980s, there have been contrasting ideas about this topic especially between physicians and public health professionals today. The advent of electronic cigarettes has therefore elicited varied reactions among major players both in the health sector and cigarette manufacturing industry. Electronic cigarettes are basically battery-operated devices that simulate traditional tobacco cigarettes and are designed in such a way that they transmit a nicotine vapor that is usually inhaled (Novack para 2).
Electronic cigarettes - or e-cigarettes - are electrical devices that imitate/copy real cigarettes by producing a vapour that's possibly less harmful than tobacco smoke. Many e-cigarettes contain nicotine and, when they do, it's the vapour that gives the nicotine hit.
Even though many people may think that e-cigarettes are a healthier alternative than smoking cigarettes they could be wrong. Numerous amount of e-cigarette smokers love their cigarette devices aka “vapes” and so they choose to make them distinctive by modifying them and making them blow huge clouds of smoke, so they can taste a richer flavor from the juices that they pour inside the device. According to Pepper, “e-cigarettes do not rely on combustion or contain cured tobacco, so they produce far fewer harmful constituents than regular cigarettes” (Pepper). Though e-cigarettes may seem to be a great substitute for cigarettes, they are highly addictive and the modifications that people do to these devices aren’t helpful. In addition e-cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes were first developed by a Chinese pharmacist because he watched his father die from cancer caused by traditional cigarettes.. The article “ Smoke Signals” by Alessandra Potenza which is featured in Upfront magazine shows that E Cigs are a controversial and complex issue which is popular among young Americans. Electronic cigarettes do not contain all of the harmful chemicals that cigarettes do. Although these E Cigs are an healthier alternative to cigarettes, these E Cigs may still get users addicted to nicotine just an cigarettes would.
E-cigarettes appear as an innocent alternative to the real thing but the Food and Drug Administration issued an advisory identifying the “volatile” substances in the device and its emitted smoke may not be that harmless after all (“FDA: Second-Hand Smoke From E-Cigarettes May Be Harmful To Your Health”, 2013). Electronic cigarettes contain organic substances including propylene glycol, flavors, and nicotine which are emitted as a mist into the air in enclosed areas. FDA studies show that these microscopic liquid particles have the possibility of penetrating deep into our lungs. Also cited by the FDA in a German publication on electronic cigarettes shows
Electronic cigarette takes the form of the real tobacco cigarette smoking devices of pipes, cigars or cigarettes. However, most of the e-cigarette comes in various appealing and innovative devices of ballpoint pens or screw drivers. Most e-cigarette implements could be re-used as they come with replaceable and refillable equipment. On the other hand some of the electronic cigarette devices are disposable.
