Flower modification that would make water medium necessary for pollination.
Introduction:
Pollination is the process through which the male gamete of the plants is transferred to the female receiving part of the plant. This can also be defined as the process of transfer to pollen to the stigma for fertilization.
Explanation of Solution
For pollination to occur, the flowers must open up and male and the female parts of the flower must become mature for gamete formation. In case the availability of water becomes necessary for any of these processes, let’s say, if opening up of flower is not possible without water, then the water would become necessary for pollination to occur.
