The first day i had a lot of hopes for this week. But so far we have done this contraption with an egg inside and the whole purpose what to drop the egg without breaking it. Another cool thing that we did was with mr. ochoa we played this really stressful game (well it was stressful for me) because the whole purpose of the game was to work together and no one wanted to talk. And we had to figure out all these kinds of hard puzzles and use the answers to open these locks attached to a suitcase. But we only managed to open two locks out of four. Some of the things that would really improve this week would be that we would do more stuff outside like excersice. They also need to give us more instructions on how to do things and some teachers really
A deaf same sex couple went to a fertility clinic requesting spermatozoa that would help them have a deaf child. The clinic turned the couple away. The couple then approached a deaf acquaintance that had a history of deafness across multiple generations in his family. He agreed to donate spermatozoa, and the couple succeeded in having a deaf child. Not only did they succeed to have one child, they had another deaf child 5 years later. Both of the women were born deaf and wanted their children to share the same culture. They deliberately created deaf children and denied any hearing aids or anything helpful for the children(“Medical Ethics”). Even though the parents are deaf it doesn't mean they have to purposely make your children suffer. This
Week 2 has been quite overwhelming. I did not have enough time to do my reading assignments over the weekend. I normally utilize Saturday and Sunday to do my research work and reading. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning, I attended a meeting that took half of the day, when I returned home my husband informed that he had invited our friends over for dinner as they will be leaving for Melbourne the following day. My house was a mess as it hadn't been cleaned the previous weekend when we were away. Thus, my whole Saturday was wasted on doing the trivial aspects of life. I missed church on Sunday so that I can catch up on my work and everything went well thereafter. I managed to complete my tasks. I found that a lot of students were divided when it came answering the forum discussion assignment on what would happen to bond prices if terrorism ended and countries adopted free trade. What's you take on this one?
This week was not too bad in regards to any of the work I actually needed to do. There are definitely some concepts that I think I need to improve my understanding but I think that I did take away what was available from the texts we were provided.
In conclusion, this week was great because we learned more than a pique turn and more jumps. I am looking forward for the rest of the semester so I can become a better dancer. All what I learn this week I continue to practice it at home on the weekend, so that I won’t forget on
In designing an engineered baby, it is never a guaranteed that they will be born unharmed or mentally stabled. The tools that are used can potentially harm the embryo, leaving it to be destroyed, if the perfect baby is not created it is eliminated. Genetically manipulated gene are recognized to cause serious diseases or disabilities after studies are done. A gene can often have more than one usage. While it can be used to cure a disease, and help stop an inherited illness, this study should not be done on living embryos. It causes more harm than it does good, affecting and destroying the unborn causing harm. Also creating a designer baby can cause a link to racism. In the book “A Brave New World of Designer Babies” by Sonia Suter, it explains how designer babies are linked to racism and how thanks to (neo)eugenics people might want to use this to eliminate or reduce the prevalence of ethnic groups. This is a perfect example of why genetically modified humans should not be allowed. It will cause harm to children, and causes a division between children and young adults. For instance, schools, parks, playgrounds, and many more public zones, will be divided. A child can also be picked on because they are designer children, or they can be bullied by not being designer babies, and not being in the perfect image. It can cause serious separation and divide children into adulthood. This will make individuals feel bad about themselves and will affect their mental state. Having a
This week has been a good one so far. I can say I feel really good about my progress and work completed. I am half way done with my curriculum map and I am starting to list resources and strategies that I am using which will add an extra component to my curriculum map. I think I started to piece together my PowerPoint presentation as well.
I feel this week was very beneficial to me as well as to my business career. I think the information was helpful and made me understand things better. I was unaware of some of the terms in the book, but learned them. This week was smoother than the first week. I thought the first week has been the toughest so far. I feel I am doing well in the course, but I will continue to do better on my assignments.
This week was I was relaxed and nervous. I was relaxed because I am done with my individual assignment, and nervous because we have presentation. I think group member before us as set the presentation standards high, and we as a group need to at least try to match the level. Other than reading and working on the presentation I had two case studies, 9 discussions board posting to finish. I am poor public speaker, I get extra nervous to talk in front of the class. Hope I can manage to talk for two minutes, and explained what I read and research on my topic.
Discuss this week’s objectives with your team. Include the topics you feel comfortable with, any topics you struggled with, and how the topics relate to your
Twenty years from now a mother is watching her daughter play with her new friend. She’s considered a ‘normie’ with no new features, while the friend is the newest creation of modern science. She has been genetically modified into a super being. Beautiful, athletic, and incredibly intelligent, she is everything parents could want for their child. Most people are making the change to the designer world, and plenty are happy. This could be the future for humanity, but also a disaster for society.
The week was good because I got to really understand and see thing done up close.
This week we are focusing on bubbles! Today during circle time, Donovan and Savar picked out one of our favorite books, “Manners Time”, by Elizabeth Verdick. We practiced our sign language and reviewed “please” and “thank you”. Then we had fun popping the bubbles in Elmo’s “Let’s Get Clean” book. After reading, we stayed out of the rain and headed to Movement Matters! Palmer and Orville were adventurous and climbed all the way to the top of the rock climbing wall! Kenley and Aarav had fun rowing their wooden boat and swaying back and forth with their friends from Sprouts 2. Back in the classroom, we suited up in bubble wrap and stomped in blue and pink paint to create some amazing bubble art! Everyone loved popping the bubble wrap!
I think we should have designer babies because what if someone can’t have kids and they want a baby? What do they do adopted or just make a designer baby, just think about it would you want you child to have something wrong with them. So now with designer babies, your baby won’t have anything wrong with it that you don’t want. According to The Ethics of Editing Human Embryos “Imagine if genetic diseases could be removed from the very biological code of our species — a future in which the likes of hemophilia, cystic fibrosis or dozens of other afflictions are simply edited out of human embryos. In April online in the journal Protein and Cell, a team of Chinese scientists reported the first documented experiment to do just that.”
However, it hasn’t been that exciting. Most of my work this week revolved around running errands for the basketball operations staff. First and foremost, I updated player boards in executives’ offices to reflect the recent roster changes of each NBA team. This entails making sure each depth chart matches the roster of each team. To do so, I have to make labels and put them on magnets. Once I have finished the magnets, I go to the boards and place the player magnets on their respective team roster. Additionally, due to our summer league roster practicing in D.C. this week, I had to also run errands for the
I think the theme of the story is the smallest decisions can make the biggest changes. If you think about how frightened Ekels was about the T-Rex, he let it get the best of him as he cowered away. This changed everything that could have happened. He could have stood his ground and helped the other hunters to fight of the T-Rex. But instead he chose to run and step off of the path. This small decision caused him to step on this tiny butterfly that changed the course of history. So I feel like Bradbury is trying to tell us to always think of the consequences before you make a decision. The smallest thing that you do, such as smile at someone can change your entire life forever. So in life Bradbury always wants us to be wise and think ahead when
