Leadership is the art of motivating a group of individuals towards achieving a common sense of purpose or an overall objective established. There are many traits and personalities a successful leader inculcates that makes them unique and highly distinctive compared to ordinary individuals.

Followership is what allows for leadership. You cannot lead without followership. I also think in order to be a good or great leader, you must also be a good or great follower. This requires you to be humble and observant, even if you are in a leadership position to take a step back and become a follower for a time period, this in turn will help you become and develop as a better leader. What the important thing to know about followership is that it allows for leaders to learn something about other leaders and learn something about themselves. The role of the follower can be one of self-control and in being strong in that can help the leader out with making his or her job easier. Followers can also observe how the leader works and adopt the models that he or she practices.
As of followership, there are some strengths and weaknesses that comes with it. Some of the strengths is having the opportunity to follow someone who is willing to guide and show you the in and outs of how things are ran and how to achieve whatever goals you may have. The good thing about followership is is being able to be educated by someone who has done what you are trying to do, if not more. Followership could also help leaders become better at being leaders.
