Interpretation:

The structures of two optically active stereoisomers of $1,2,3,4,5,6\text{-hexachlorocyclohexane}$ that could be isolated under ordinary conditions are to be predicted.

Concept introduction:

A carbon atom that has four nonequivalent atoms or groups attached to it is known as the chiral carbon atom. Chiral carbon centers are also termed as asymmetric or stereo-genic centers. The chiral atom sometimes results in the formation of enantiomers which are the non-superimposable mirror images of each other.

Interpretation:

The structures of two stereoisomers of $1,2,3,4,5,6\text{-hexachlorocyclohexane}$ for which the chair interconversion results in identical molecules are to be predicted.

Concept introduction:

The conformation of cyclohexane is a type of $3-\text{D}$ shape of cyclohexane molecule. There are total four types of significant conformations of cyclohexane exists which are chair conformation, half-chair conformation, boat conformation and twist-boat conformation.
